Only Just Getting Started (Adopted by Shisa)

Chapter 1

My name is Charlie Weston. I'm 14 years old and it's exactly a week until my 15th birthday. I have short brown hair and green eyes. I'm a tomboy and at first I seem like a normal teenager but I'm not. I am an orphan. I was born at this orphanage and I've spent my entire life here. I've only ever had one friend, Joel. We met on our first day of primary school and we've been best friends ever since. The only problem is that we can only hang out at school because of the orphanage rules. I don't have much to do here, I'm one of the only teenagers, it's a pretty small orphanage and most kids get adopted before their 10th birthday. Nobody wanted me, I've only ever been to 3 interviews and each time I just wasn't quite the right kid. I've got my computer and that gets me through, mainly because of the wifi. A few years ago I found YouTube and I started watching a few people. Now, I can't live without them. My favourite YouTubers are Shane Dawson and Lisa Schwartz. They make me feel like I'm not completely alone and they are seriously the cutest couple on the internet. I introduced them to Joel and he loves their videos as well. We both like the same YouTubers so we've always got loads to talk about. 

Today I did my usual routine of walking from school to the orphanage with Joel as slowly as we possibly can. I said goodbye to him and went up to my room. When you turn 13, you get your own room, I guess they kind of assume you're going to be staying for a while if you haven't been adopted by then. I log onto YouTube and watch the latest videos. I watch Shane's vlog first and then Lisa's. I'm about half way through watching Jim Chapman's new vlog when Mrs Barnes (the woman in charge of the orphanage) comes into my room to tell me that there is a couple downstairs who want to interview me. I shutdown my laptop and change out of my school clothes into some black jeans and a button up denim shirt. I roll the sleeves up to my elbows and put on my converse. I go downstairs to Mrs Barnes' office and knock on the door. I open it and walk in. Sitting on the couch were the people who would possibly adopt me and when I saw who they were I almost screamed. It was Shane Dawson and Lisa Schwartz.
