Only Just Getting Started (Adopted by Shisa)

Chapter 6

Shane wakes me up at about 8:00 to have some breakfast and get ready to go. We say goodbye to Lisa and drive to Joey and Sawyer’s. I’m really nervous and as a result I stare out the window being completely silent. After about 10 minutes Shane senses that there’s something wrong.

“Hey are you ok?”

“Yeah I’m just a bit nervous”

“Aww you’ll be fine they’re gonna really like you”

“Thanks Shane”

 We talk about the most random things for the rest of the drive and then we arrive. We stop outside the door and I take a deep breath. Shane gives me a reassuring smile and knocks on the door. Sawyer answers it and I fangirl internally. He’s even better looking in real life. 

“Hey Shane”

“Hey. This is the amazing girl I told you I was adopting”

“Oh yeah of course. Hey Charlie it’s nice to meet ya”

“H-hi Sawyer it’s really nice to meet you too”

“Haha. I sense a bit of nervousness there”

“Just a little, I’ll get over it”

“Well come on in guys Joey will be down in a sec”

We walk in and it’s like I’m watching a video. I’ve seen this room loads. Hitch runs over to us and I kneel down to pet him. He’s so adorable and I’m honestly equally excited to meet Hitch as I am Sawyer and Joey. Joey walks down the stairs and Shane is the first to speak to him.

“Hey baby boo bear”

I can’t help but laugh, Shoey is so funny. Shane looks over at me and smiles.

“What? I can’t express my love without being laughed at?”

“Oh my god Shane I know Shoey isn’t real I’m not one of those crazy people”

“Still made you laugh”

Joey walks over to me and introduces himself, not that he needs to.

“I’m Charlie. I’m Shane’s, daughter”

After I say that I immediately look at Shane who is smiling and looks like he might cry a little bit. I guess it must be so special for him having grown up with a terrible father and then no father. I think that’s one of the reasons we have gotten so close in such a short amount of time.

“Awesome Shane told me you would be coming. Are you excited to see us film?”

“Yeah I am”

“That’s good. Let’s get set up”

Shane films with Sawyer first so Joey takes me out onto their little balcony so that we can talk without disturbing the video. He asks me some questions and tells me a few things about himself and we just chat about random stuff. It’s so weird to think that a month ago I was sitting in my room in the orphanage watching Joey’s vlogs and dreaming about maybe seeing him walk past my school one day and now I’m sitting here, at his house, having a proper conversation with him. After Shane and Sawyer finish filming it’s Joey’s turn. Sawyer has some work he has to do so I sit out on the couch and watch them film their Shoey collabs. I laugh pretty much the entire video and even appear briefly in both videos. By the time they are done it’s lunch time so Shane calls Lisa and asks if she wants to meet us somewhere for lunch. They arrange to meet at their favourite restaurant and the four of us pile into Shane’s car and we drive over there. The car ride is hilarious. Hanging out with these guys is so much fun. We get to the restaurant and Lisa is waiting for us. We all go in and get a booth. Lisa, Shane and I sit on one side and Joey and Sawyer sit on the other. Lunch is really good and we have some very interesting and also disturbing conversations. After we finish eating I go home with Lisa and Shane drops the other guys off before coming home as well. I call Joel and we arrange all of the plans for tomorrow. Teresa also calls Shane to make sure we will still be there for lunch tomorrow. My birthday is going to be amazing and I am excited about it for the first time ever.
