Happy x Reader (exceed!)

"Yosh."

I double checked my belongings and pulled my bag over my shoulder before walking out the front door.

The sun shone brightly and I could hear the happy chatters of people walking along the streets in pairs. It was Valentine's Day and I too hoped to get myself a Valentine.

I could feel the slight weight of the small box I had in my bag, poking against my back as I flew towards the direction of the guild. In my head I ran though a few ways to give the gift, but they all felt too cheesy to do.

By the time I reached the guild I decided to do the simplest method and just give it straight up. No beating around the bush or waiting for the right timing. I just had to do it and I'll worry about the outcome later.

The guild was as lively as ever. People were chatting, Cana was drinking, Natsu and Gray were fighting, Erza was breaking them up, and there was the exceeds at the table like always. I flew over to them and stood next to Carla and Lily.

"Hey (y/n)." Lily turned my way with a nod.

"Hey." I replied and smiled at Carla before turning to Happy. "What happened to him?"

The blue exceed sulked on the table with a dark shadow covering his face. He seemed to be muttering to himself, but I couldn't make out what it was.

"He tried giving me a fish again," Carla said, placing her hands on her hips with a sigh.

He was rejected. I looked at Happy and get myself aso getting gloomy. I knew for the longest time that he had a crush on Carla. It was apparent the very first day they met. I didn't have a high chance at all, but I still held on to my feelings.

I went over and took a seat next to him. I took my bag and pulled out a white and blue box. I turned towards him with the happiest smile I could put on.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Happy."

He looked up with a sight gloom still on his face, but it lightened up a bit when he saw the box in my hands, "For me?"

I nodded and handed him the gift. I could feel my paws shake as my heart pounded in my chest. I watched him open it to reveal the rows of small fish half dipped in chocolate.

"Wow! Thank you (y/n)!" He wrapped his arms around me and squeezed me in a tight hug.

I hugged him back and felt relief that he liked the present, "You're welcome Happy."

He took them out one by one and ate them with a huge smile on his face. I watched him eat it and I could stop smiling.

He definitely was Happy and his happiness transfers to others like the sun's warm rays. I may not be his exclusive valentine this year, but this is enough to make my heart flutter with happiness for a thousand more.
