new beginnings with trouble?
ArihahToday was my graduation and I couldn't be happier. I was going to go far. Everyone that doubted me will be surprised.
I stood at the mirror and examined myself,"Girl you slaying." I said to myself.
I wore a white cut out skater dress with black stiletto ankle strap high heels. I wore my locket with the pics of Dre and daddy in. I needed them the most right now but I had this locket.
I went for a natural look for my makeup. I was wearing red lipstick to make the whole outfit pop. My hair was bone straight and looked pretty good.
"Arihah are you ready?" I heard my mom ask.
"Yeah. I'm coming now!"
She kept Maxlin for me these last few weeks so I could get everything situated with packing. Uncle Myles and Uncle Jason took some of the boxes to Connecticut already so it wouldn't be too much of a hassle.
After graduation I was having dinner with my mom, Uncle Myles, Uncle Jason, Jared, Bennet, and Manny.
As I was walking out my room my phone rung. It was a FaceTime call from Tommathie.
"Hey guys!" I cheesed.
"Wassup its yo day sis!"
"Hey boo. Happy graduation day!" Ahlanny cheesed.
"Yes it is," I exclaimed. "Your girl is finally leaving high school."
Ahlanny pouted. "Just leaving us behind huh?"
"Girl stop. You know we still gon' be close."
Over the past year Ahlanny and I really got close to each other and I was happy I met her. Tommathie and I's relationship grew even more. The crazy thing is these two decided to start dating. I was shocked at first but definitely was rooting for them.
They had been together for four months now and Ahlanny was always smiling. I could tell she was happy and that made me happy.
"I know I know. But we have your gift, you're gonna love mine."
"Ouuu' what is it?"
She sucked her teeth. "Now why would I tell you?"
"Tommathie?"
"Nope can't tell you. But let us see your outfit."
I gave them a overview and they liked it. After chatting with them for about five more minutes it was time to go.
"Congratulations," Granddaddy Monarch hugged me.
"Thank you!"
After our last encounter we actually talked it out and we're back on a good page. After that night though, Cajun was no where to be found.
"I'm very proud of you. Through all your obstacles you've proved that you don't have to give up. You've came this far and I know you're only going up from here."
