Epilogue

TWO YEARS LATER

Opening the door to her dad's house, the aroma of food hit Arihah's nose.

She was dressed in a sleeveless neck crop top, festival palazzo trousers, and ALDO tan sandals.

Her hair now had burnt orange highlights and a swoop bang.

Walking into the kitchen she saw her dad at the stove stirring something in the pot.

"Hey daddy-o."

"Hey baby girl. Where you coming from?"

"Janeli."

Arihah was back home from her sophomore year of college at Howard. She was a marketing major and English minor.

She interned at a local radio station in DC for her second semester of sophomore year and since she did so well that were considering her to being their marketing person. At the moment they were going to have her being a paid intern once her junior year started.

She worked at BMW as a receptionist for two years and finally quit last week. She loved the job and the pay was good but she had so much more stuff she was doing.

She no longer lived with Janeli or stayed with her during the summer or holiday breaks.

JaMont got back on his feet and bought a house in New Haven. After working a couple months at the auto shop, JaMont went back to Annapolis and found his stash.

With the money he was saving from the auto shop and the money he already had he started investing.

Arihah were proving many people wrong that doubted her. She was a real estate agent, business owner, intern, braided hair in her free time, modeled, soon to be junior in college, and a mother to a three year old. All of this before she hit the age of 21.

"Who's coming by?" Arihah asked her dad.

"Myles, Jared, Stari, and Manny."

Stari was Bennet's daughter. Shantell– Bennet's baby mother was still a stripper but she was a great mother. She always showed Stari pictures of Bennet even though she was only one.

Shantell cut all ties with her family except her mother. She was disgusted to know her brother and father did the things they did to Bennet.

She never kept Stari away from the Dawes even though they did 'kidnap' her.

Jared went downhill after his mom died. He starting smoking and drinking more than usual. When he ended up going to jail for aggravated assault Myles realized he had to do something.

After Jared had a mental breakdown when Arihah came home from holiday break her freshman year he finally got himself together. He enrolled in online school and got a job.

Manny still lived in the apartment in Brooklyn but he no longer worked at Myles' auto shop or worked for DawesInStyle.

He fell in love with cooking so that was what he decided to turn into his career. He started off selling boxes of food then got himself a job as a line cook at The Cheesecake Factory.
