Falling in love with Castiel was just how the cheesy movies Deans mother, Mary watched explained.

Dean never expected it to go much further than the first date, Dean and Castiel were too different. Castiel was always calm and collected where as Dean had a war going inside his head at all time.

Dean was going to break up with Castiel two dates in, he didn't want to pull Castiel into his problems but when he pulled up in front of Castiels house and he got into Deans car, looking at him with those damn eyes. The eyes Dean could drown in, the eyes Dean was drowning in, he knew there was no way he was going to able to end this.

Dean and Castiel didn't kiss again, after the first day in the janitors closet until the night Castiel asked Dean if he wanted to be "in a relationship" as Castiel worded it.

Dean thought maybe he replies yes too quickly, that he was going to scare Castiel off but instead of running for the hills Castiel did the opposite, he leaned in and kiss Dean softly on the lips.

This time, unlike the last time, Dean kissed back.

When Dean came out to his family he expected the worst, Castiel who had come out to his family in seventh grade told him to just speak from the heart and they should love him all the same.

Dean tried to be positive walking into where he mother and younger brother, Sam were sitting at the table. He sits down, looking at the both of them, chewing his lip.

"Mom..Sammy?" Dean questions, looking at the both of them, swallowing his fears. He wanted to do this, he would do this.

Mary and Sam both look at him expectingly, Dean takes a moment to compose himself, his hands going into fists on his lap. He digs his finger nails into his palm, before taking a deep breath.

"I- I'm in a romantic relationship with a boy" He says, finally. Mary and Sam watch him for a moment longer before Sam speaks up.

"So are you gay?" He asks, Dean shakes his head.

"No..I'm- Well Cas calls if Bisexual..It means I like boys and girls" He explains, looking at Sam before looking back to Mary. She hadn't said anything, but she didn't look angry, that was good.

Mary watches him for a moment longer.

"Is this Cas your boyfriend?" She questions. Dean nods, smiling nervously, even in this moment the mention of Castiel brought a smile to his face, Mary smiles back.

"I can't wait to meet him, you should invite him for dinner" She nods, putting a hand on Deans elbow.

"As long as your healthy and not getting into trouble it doesn't matter who you like Dean" She assures, before getting up, walking towards the kitchen, going to make dinner.

Dean takes a deep sigh, everything would be okay, he thought to himself.

When Dean graduated high school Castiel was right there with him. They hadn't really come out at school, they hung out alot but most people only assumed they were just friends.

No one put two and two together.

When they kissed at the end of the ceremony alot of their classmates were shocked, others said they called it. No one really said anything mean though, they were too distracted with the fact they were finally done with high school.

Dean and Castiel spent the entire summer by each others sides, they were barely apart for more than ten minutes a day, if that.

Dean could feel himself turning into some kind of love-wrecked cliché. Every single day he would drown deeper into the blue of Castiels eyes and he was completely fine with it.
