I was one of the newer vampires so I was forced to stay inside the hotel until I finished the basics of 'Vamp Camp.'
I had just finished for the day so I decided to wander around the hotel, checking every room until I found something interesting, and boy did I find something interesting.
I stopped at a set of white double doors. I walked up to the doors and pushed open the right door. I was not expecting what was before me. I walked in and looked around in amazement, I have never seen so many books in my life. There were two floors to the room and there were so many books.
I closed the door behind me and I walked to each shelf reading each title. I went shelf to shelf and picked out a few books I might like to read, I found a little sitting area and I placed my books down and started reading the first one, The Odyssey.
I read book after book and I placed them in their respective places before taking another look around. I noticed some books just laying around so I took it upon myself to place them in the shelves that best suited them. I basically became a librarian.
I was hummed to myself as I walked around the place organizing the order of the books by genre, which is why I didn't hear when someone entered.
"What are you doing here?" I hear an annoyed voice, turning to find our leader, Raphael Santiago.
"I was uh looking around the hotel and I found this place so I stayed," I managed to get out without stuttering to much. He raised an eyebrow at me, I sighed, "I've always loved reading ever since I was a kid so when I found the library I came in. I've always felt peaceful in around books, they make me feel at home."
He smiled. Actually smiled! Wow he looks even better when he smile. Wait what? "I always felt more relaxed when I was surrounded by books. Not many of the vampires come here so it's sort of my getaway."
I give him a small smile. "I'll uh try not to bother you while I'm here then," I say.
"I don't mind," is all he says before heading into a different part of the library. I go back to what I was doing, I was about done when Raphael found me again.
"I can't find a book, could you help me look for it?" He asks.
"Sure. What's the title of the book? What genre is it?" I focus on him.
"It's Iliad by Homer," he responds.
"Oh, I actually read that earlier, I uh kinda organized the books so I'll go and get it for you." I speed away and go to the shelf where I put the book. I turn around to get back to him but he had other plans so I run right into his chest. His arms being my only saving grace.
"Sorry, I thought you would've heard me coming," He says with a smirk.
"I uh, I'm uh, still getting a hang on the uh new stuff," I mumble out, being this close to him is doing things to me.
He leans in and I freeze up, "Thank you, for finding the book." His lips brush against mine before he grabs the book and runs off to his part of the library.
I stand there unmoving, what the hell just happened?
