It seems that no matter what I do, I can never keep myself out of war.
Two years have passed since the Plegia-Ylisse war had ended, and Chrom and I had been officially married, making me Queen Kai of Ylisse. And I proudly took on the title of Lady Kai. It seemed to fit me. And it wasn't because of all that "Oh, I'm from Valla" crap. Honestly, I've forgotten about most of the stuff, and I can only assume that my mind was trying to play tricks on me when I first arrived.

Now, we are going to head back to Plegia, as our new enemy, Valm, has a great navy, and Ylisse doesn't even have one. On the other hand, Plegia does, so we are hoping that they are able to help us in the fight against Valm. Their army was hard to beat, but what we faced were just the front lines. The worst has yet to come.

What's great about this is that about two months ago, we had a baby girl, Lucina. I was able to convince Chrom to let me come with him. The reason that it probably worked was that the House of Ylisse had a tradition of wet-nursing, something that I actively wanted to do. As Chrom's tactician, I don't think that he would be of much use without me, wherever a campaign might lead his and his, I mean our army.

I'm just hoping I don't die in this war. It seems to keep happening to me. I'm involved in war after war. I hope things go well.

I sighed as I looked over at Chrom as we were walking. "So, yet another war..."
"So it would seem," he said with a slight shake of his head.
"...if I really am Kai, this is, what, my third war?"
Chrom was silent for a moment as he thought, but he eventually nodded in agreement. "Yeah. That sounds right."
"I'm honestly kinda getting sick of this..." I mumbled under my breath.
Chrom then put his arm around my shoulder, pulling me next to him as we walked. "Hey, there's nothing to worry about, Kai. You can pull through this."
"I get that," I shook my head. "But...what if something does happen..?"
Chrom shook his head. "I swear, Kai. You don't need to worry about it. I will be willing to sacrifice my life over yours any day."
I blushed ever so slightly. "Ch-Chrom..."
He then stopped in his tracks, and pulled me so I was facing him. Then, without a word, he just pulled me into his embrace, and we stood there for a minute, hugging.
I don't know why, but I started to cry. I guess that I just had so many bottled up emotions, and I just needed to let them out.
"There, there, Kai..." Chrom whispered. "It's going to be okay. I promise."
With a smile, I wiped my tears away, and pulled him in for a quick kiss, and he kissed back.
