The next day, Harvey and I walked into school in silence. Max hadn't woken up yet and neither had Gwidvall. We walked through the doors of the school and ignored the crazy fan girls. We just weren't in the mood. We were in the middle of geography when a teacher called Harvey and I out. Harvey looked very nervous. I knew he was worried about Max.
"He's gonna be ok. Trust me." I squeezed Harvey's hand reassuringly. He just smiled and to be honest, I couldn't blame him. His other half might not remember him and his best friend was in a comba.
"Guys!" We heard a voice from behind us and the teacher slowly backed out of the corridor, smiling. We turned around to see Gwidvall and Sophia walking towards us. Harvey and I immediately ran up to hi and crushed him in a group hug.
"Hey Gwidvall!" I said before we pulled away.
"Hey guys. The doctors told me to tell you that Max is gonna be ok and he is due to wake up tonight although he will only have his memory restored by Saturday." Gwidvall told us. I'm glad he was back to his normal self and our squad was nearly in-tact again. Harvey looked slightly more relieved but he still had a look of worry lingering in his eyes. Today was only Thursday so that was a long time to wait.
"Hey, its gonna be fine. With all of the modern technology he will be awake and back to normal in no time." I reassured Harvey. He looked up at me and smiled.
"Thanks. I couldn't ask for a better friend." He replied. Wow, I just got friend zoned so bad but I didn't care. "Are you gonna do classes today or are you still recovering?" Harvey turned to Gwidvall.
"Can't do PE unfortunately but I can still do other classes." Gwidvall replied. At that moment, Mr Smith (our geography teacher) called us back in.
"Bye guys, I've got drama now." Gwidvall said before walking off. The rest of the lesson was so boring. Who needs to know what a cirrus cloud is in a job interview? Not me anyway...
At last, the bell rang signalling the end of the lesson and we all sprinted out of the classroom. It was RE next with Sophia and Max but it was just Sophia and I.
"Don't worry Poppy, I know you are good friends with Max so you will find it hard to concentrate. I won't expect much from you this lesson. Same goes for you Sophia." Mr Bailey said to us before he walked off again. Mr Bailey was probably the best teacher in the school (Apart from Mr Hatton, no one can beat his great drama lessons!).
Sophia and I both punched the air as we got into our seats. Luckily Mr Bailey wasn't looking.
"I think this is gonna be a good lesson, even if it is RE. I mean, how often does a teacher say 'you don't have to work hard in this lesson' to you?" Sophia joked and we both laughed.
In the lesson, we just recapped all the stuff we did last year in year 8 although I didn't have a clue about what was going on. In my school, we studied Sikhism and not Hinduism. However, I eventually got a grip of what's going on. All our exams were done so none of us really cared about paying attention and to be honest, it didn't look look like Mr Bailey did either. Finally, the lesson had dragged by and the end of school came.
"HAHA , Its Friday tomorrow and then its not just the weekend but its the summer holidays!" Sophia told me and we may or may not have had a sort of little dance in the middle of the park on the way home. I loved my friends, I loved my life and I felt like this was my home.
