Duet Part 2

"I was thinking maybe we do something like this," Eldon stood in front of Michelle, and did a pirouette to the side. "Kinda."

"Oh yeah! That would be good. And then that could lead into a lift..."

Michelle and Eldon were working through the coreo for the duet they now had to apparently preform, and it was going great. The initial tension had disappeared, and now the two dancers were working together like it was their original duet. 

Eldon was amazed at how natural it felt to be working with Michelle again. He was sure it was going to be incredibly awkward and patchy, but instead it was actually kind of fun. He hadn't realized how much he had missed talking to her, normally. 

"Do you want to try with music?" 

Eldon snapped out of his thoughts. "I-uh-yeah. Let's do it."

Michelle smiled and started the song, Whirlwind.

They took their starting positions, and began the dance.

It felt so right, dancing together, that Eldon was taken aback. It was strange, but not unpleasant. 

They moved to the music. They spun, they ducked, they jumped, and they lifted. Everything about the dance, it was almost like an apology. And they were both accepting it.

As the music faded away, Michelle spun into a dip. As Eldon lifted her, they stopped face-to-face. Eldon was suddenly struck with a huge sense of deja-vu. 

"You know what John can't do?" Michelle unexpectedly whispered.

Eldon shook his head gently, for some reason not wanting to disturb the moment. 

"Dance," Michelle said, then kissed him on the cheek. "We should probably go show this to Miss Kate now," she disentangled herself from him and walked out of Studio B.

Eldon stood where he was, absolutely stunned.

But not in a bad way.
