I close my eyes, sighing deeply. "Okay, Abel. Lets head off." I begin walking ahead of him down the beaten path that he says is the way there."It's so cold out here, and that camp always felt so warm." I frown, looking back to our now abandoned place of stay for the past three months.

"So many memories we're leaving behind!" He says, wiping a fake tear. "The first time we had a real conversation.." He winks at her.

I open my eyes, and take another step forward. "Wait, Phoenix! Theres a steep part ther-" He begins, and I gasp, my leg twisting madly under a rock. I begin to rocket towards the ground, but I feel arms quickly sweep me up, and Abel is holding me. "You really have to pay attention."

One Month Later.

Abel and I sit at a campfire, the stars seeming to illuminate the clearing. I sit, my arms propping my body up as Abel wraps my ankle in a bandage. I sigh a I really don't want you touching me sigh, and he laughs. "Was that one of your infamous don't touch me sighs? Well, you're gonna have to deal with it, because I'm not gonna let you walk without the proper aid on your ankle." He gives me one of his charismatic

smiles. And all I was doing was making sure he wasn't doing anything to make me slap him, so I didn't reply.

I sigh. "Are we nearly there?" I say, flopping onto my back. I look up and the stars slowly make themselves visible through the clearing in the tall trees. He laughs, placing himself next to me.

"I think we still have another camp until we get there." He sits up, slowly unwrapping the splint on my ankle and grabbing some supplies to re-wrap it. I suck in a breath, feeling my ankle lose it's support and point, causing a pain to shoot up my leg. "Wow, this thing will take a while to heal."

"Any excuse to take care of me, Abel," I reply sardonically, laughing. He rolls his eyes, looking into mine. He re-wraps it and places the splint on my foot, setting it with medical tape. I place my leg straight up into the air, admiring the splint. "You must be really good at this."

He looks away, up to the stars, then back to the splint. "Too bad you got injured. We'll have to get that checked out when we get back.. or maybe I could help?" I eye him suspiciously. He shrugs, saying "I'll explain when you ask" He bats his eyes like a teenage girl.

I laugh, asking "How could you help?"

He flashes me a dramatic look "You never asked me about my power, but now's as good a time as any!" I gasp, but he hushes me.

"My power includes..." He announces, His eyes glowing a warm color. "Being able to see into memories, changing memories and even changing how people percieve reality." He shows a goofy grin. I sigh, shaking my head. It makes a lot of sense, knowing how he is an actual psycopath.

"So, you wanna know my power?" I simpered, him scootching closer. I pause before adding "Is to be able to see into people's thoughts, memories or dreams. I can also project said thoughts into other people's minds." Now it was time for him to gasp, but I followed suit, silencing him. "I can, but it takes time and meditation, also I sometimes can get overwhelmed if I can't turn off my power when need to."

He reiterates, "Looks like you'll have to live with me, then! We're so similar, Phoenix." he winks at me, causing me to roll my eyes. "You look cute when you're annoyed."

I move my head back, gazing at him. "Oh, yeah?" I ask.

"Yes." His eyes show seriousness for a moment before returning to himself, laughing. "So, you want me to help you?"

"How can you with your power?," I say, looking straight at him.

Abel suddenly whips his head away. "What's up?" I ask. He moves his face back slightly, just enough to see his face. Abel looks flushed, and his eyes widen.

"Let me repeat myself, what is happening?" I say.

"It's you." He says, almost whispering. "How are you able to do that?"

"What?" I ask.

"How do you make me feel like this?" He says. The whole clearing seems to hush, and the only sound heard is the wind ensared through the trees.

He whips his head back, opening his mouth, but then he stands, looking down to me, grinning. "You okay up there?" I say, teasing. His eyes look dull, and he walks past me, grabbing a flashlight and illuminating the treeline.

He sighs. There's nothing there. I look quizzically at him, puzzling over what just happened. He shrugs, saying "Sorry, had a weird feeling." I shrug, trying to believe him. He sits inches away from me, moving my hair that is falling over my shoulder behind my back to look at my face. I look at him, his eyes twinkling in the slowly rising sun.

He looks to the horizon through the trees, smiling. "We can hike down now and hopefully get to the city before midday," He affirms. He turns to me, grinning. "Let's go!"

I limped behind Abel as he hurriedly walked into the people infested street. I sighed, looking at everyone. Abel stops, giving me time to limp up to him. He looks back, putting a hand up. "You need some help there?" I reluctantly take his hand, us walking down the sidewalk, me taking in the city.
