My heart was overwhelmed with emotions I hadn't understood until now. As I wrapped her in my embrace, I close my eyes, thinking hard on what I truly want. As she begins to let go, I lean on, whispering to her "I love you, Phoenix Aega."
She lightly pushes my chest, but in a way, so she can look into my eyes. This is the most serious I've ever been about my emotions...
She whispers to me, almost inaudibly, "I love you too." My heart goes wild, and I pull her into a tender kiss as we stand in the living room. Not my first kiss, but definitely the most meaningful one.
I feel her slowly accept the kiss, meeting me halfway. We stand there, seemingly swimming in this beautiful feeling that's quickly making the world seem brighter.
It's like the place around us went away and suddenly we were in a field, the sun shining brightly upon us as this beautiful moment was prolonged. I could barely smell the lilac fragrance around us before we slowly let go, the room around us fading back in as we stared into each other's eyes, breathing heavily from the longest kiss of my life.
Looking at her face I that moment, I thought to myself about that dream that had been plaguing me since I saw her on that day. I decided that with all my life I will protect her as much as I can, even if at the time it seems impossible.
Since I am who I am, I know for sure that I can keep that promise, even if it seems like the entirety of existence is pushing us apart. Phoenix slowly let's go, breathing hard as our eyes meet.
After that, we both go to the kitchen, her sitting at the counter as I make a quick meal. We don't talk much, but I didn't mind this time.
