Chapter 37-The Final Play
~{Paisley's POV}~
I ran up the stairs and heard him on the top floor. I hurried up after him and saw that the window opposite the guest room was open. He must have gone up onto the roof. I followed him out but when I got up onto the roof he wasn't there. "What?" I thought to myself.
Since the roof was flat Mitch had brought me out here a few times at night to watch the stars and other cliché stuff like that, and there was a part in the middle that was raised up to about waist height were there was something in the roof of one of the top floor rooms. On top of it was a note pad with a British flag on it. It was the same as the one I used for writing that song in ages ago, but it couldn't have been the same one because I didn't bring it to Canada with me.
I walked over to it and picked it up. It was around the size of a comic book but it was a note pad. I opened it up and it had a page full of writing.
It read...
'The Final Play...
Step One- Invite her to stay with me in Canada for a week
Step Two- If Jerome allows her to stay with me, then I know have his trust (for the most part..."
Step Three- Spend an AMAZING week with her, and love her
Step Four- Get a close friend to pose as my ex-girlfriend, to make her jealous
Step Five- She will go to Jerome and tell him everything but he will already know
Step Six- Jerome will go sick at me and she'll be there to witness it
Step Seven- Jerome will storm out and hide in the guest room, making sure to leave the window open
Step Eight- She will go onto the roof and find this note pad
Step Nine- I will be behind her when she reads this'
I turned around and just like it said, Mitch was stood there... smirking. He took a step towards me.
"What is-"
"Turn the page" he cut me off. I looked back at the not pad and turned the page..
'Step Ten- Ask her to Marry me...'
I lowered the note pad and looked at Mitch who was now down on one knee.
"Oh my God..." I said shakily
"Paisley Elizabeth Morgan. I knew that from the first time I saw you smile I wanted you. But then, the first time we spoke I knew I needed you. I love you more than anything in this entire world and I knew that the only way to show you was to ask you a very important question. I know this was a very extreme way to do it but here I am and here you are and I have one thing to ask... Will You Marry Me?" He pulled out a small suede box and slowly prised it open, revealing a thin silver band, topped with a flawless diamond.
A tear escaped my eye, as did a squeak from my lips in disbelief. Only moments ago my entire life was falling before me and now the opportunity for a new, and potentially better, life was knelt right in front of me.
I'm the end I couldn't even speak, I simply nodded my head and held out my left hand as he gently took it in his and slipped the ring over my finger.
"I love you so much" he said, still crouched on the floor. I bent down next to him and took his face in my hands, slightly admiring my ring as I did so.
"I love you too." He tilted his head up so his lips reached mine and we shared our first kiss as Fiancées.
