"Avriel Benjamin Kaplan, march your feet out of the house right now!" a rather annoyed brunette shouted as she slammed her fists noisily against the door of her brother's room. Her face seemed to burn a fiery red colour and anger radiated from every inch of her.
"You better get out of there now or I swear I will not hesitate to break down the door and drag you out to the car and the show even if you're half-naked, Benjamin!" she continued her rant as her voice rose with fury as footsteps approached her from the stairs. A hand settled on her shoulder as another patted her head.
"I'll get him, Esther, don't wear yourself out," the tall man told her as the short blonde next to him led the infuriated woman away.
"Avi? Hey, it's Kevin," he knocked on the door and spoke before turning the knob to open the door. At the sight of the bass sprawled out on his bed as he shook slightly, worry creased his forehead and he reached his side in mere seconds.
"Avi? Are you okay?" he asked him as he turned him over so he faced him and frowned at the sight of his red eyes and wet cheeks.
"What's wrong? What have you been crying for?" he asked the man who didn't respond.
"Avi, you have to talk to me or I'll never know what's wrong and can't help you out."
Esther rushed into the room yelling about how they had to be leaving in a couple of minutes and Avi had a lot of nerve not even getting out of bed. She stopped mid-sentence when she noticed Kevin frowning at her and Avi's deadpan expression.
"What? Come on, you guys have to be there, it's a big thing!" she pouted at them, causing the older of the two to slap his forehead and shake his head at her.
A look of genuine hurt crossed Avi's features as he pushed himself out of bed and pulled on a white t-shirt from his closet, grabbing a pair of trousers and a jacket before heading to the bathroom.
"Great going, Esther!" Kevin sighed as he grabbed Avi's cell phone off of the desk and walking out of the room.
"What did I do?" she asked him, rather confused.
"It's getting late, I'm sure they worry. It's getting late, my dear, uh oh," Avi sang as he passed her and went downstairs after taking his phone from his bandmate and a book from his room.
"Uh oh, he's certainly mad at me!" she said, causing Kevin to repeatedly slam his head against the wall behind him.
While the two argued, Avi spoke to Scott of an idea he had had until Kirstin hugged the latter and thanked him for the beautiful present. Scott excused himself from the conversation with Avi as she began to relate a story.
"Hey, Dragon, can I ask for a favour?" Mitch's voice startled the bearded man as he approached him. Quickly recovering, he responded in the affirmative as he turned to face the nervous boy. His heart paced quickly and butterflies seemed to flutter about in his stomach but his face held a blank expression.
"Okay, I'll tell you but you have to keep it secret from the others. Everyone, in fact," Mitch paused as he looked at Avi who nodded and wondered what it could be that he was confessing to him.
Mitch's voice dropped to a whisper and his mouth neared dangerously close to Avi's ear as the latter swallowed visibly, "I started writing a song but I could only get out a verse and I was wondering if you could help me. I know we always ask Kevin for help when it comes to songwriting but I kinda wrote this for him and wanted to surprise him with it, you know?"
Avi's eyes went wide and his heart felt like it had dropped to his feet as Mitch continued on to tell him that he would ask Kit Kat to help them as well and they could work on it on the way to the show as it would take at least an hour and left to talk to Kirstin, leaving Avi standing in his spot, speechless.
Mitch had slipped a piece of paper in his pocket, telling him to review what he already had but to ensure Kevin didn't see it. His heart pounced as the words registered in his head before tears blurred his vision. At the sound of Esther and Kevin's voices nearing him, he hastily blinked back his tears and wiped away those which had escaped his eyes before returning the paper to his pocket, where it lay next to the love letter he had written for Mitch.
