Scarlett
"So, does the dress fit now that alterations have been done?" Alex asks me as we sit down at lunch. It's the Monday of the week of the Winter Formal and last night Donna had the alterations finished on the dress she's giving me. It truly is a gorgeous dress and it's perfect for the formal. I'm a bit slimmer than her daughter so we had to get it taken in a bit but other than that, I'm totally in love with the dress save for the fact that it's sleeveless. It doesn't change the fact that I'm not exactly looking forward to the dance.
"Wait, what dress?" Matty asks as he sits down on the right side of me because Alex is on my other side. I jump in surprise because I didn't know he had sat down. I groan when I think about what he asked me and drop my head to the table. I can hear Alex's chuckle from beside me which annoys me.
"Oh, shut up." I mumble and he laughs some more.
"Scar's coming to the Winter Formal." Alex explains to Matty and I hear the guys around us choke on their food in surprise. I lift my head up and glare at them all.
"No way, you're going to the formal? You haven't been since grade ten." Luca says with wide eyes and the others nod. Connor drops into the seat in front of me looking at the rest of the guys confused. He stabs his fork into his lasagna before shoving it in his mouth.
"Who's coming to the formal?" He asks through a mouthful of lasagna.
"I am." I mutter before taking a vicious bite out of my poor peanut-butter and jam sandwich. Connor's eyes widen and he drops his fork on his plate. His mouth hangs wide open giving me a clear view to the mushy lasagna sitting on his tongue. I wrinkle my nose in disgust and turn away. "Close your mouth, you're gonna catch flies." I say rolling my eyes.
"You're going to the formal? With who?" He asks narrowing his eyes, after he's finished his bite.
"Alex, I guess, but just as friends." I say and Alex laughs.
"Scar you know that you're coming over to my house before the formal, right?" He asks and I nod. "So, then you're basically going with all the guys, they're coming too." He says grinning and I groan again and drop my head back onto the table. He laughs and rubs my back which makes me sit up tensely. I look away from Alex, who drops his hand, to the petite girl currently sitting down beside Noah. She says hey to everyone but her eyes stop on me.
"Hey, I'm Chloe Fox." She says smiling and I instantly take a liking to this girl. Her smile seems so real and she just seems so genuine, even though I've only heard her speak three words. I smile back at her.
"Scarlett Martinez." I say and she smiles.
"Scarlett, that's a pretty name." She says and I blush smiling.
"Thank you." I say and she grins. I turn to Noah who's smiling as he looks between the both of us.
"Scarlett, this is my girlfriend Chloe." He says and I nod. She seems like the type of girl Noah would date. Noah's a sweet guy and a girl like Chloe is just up his alley. "We've been dating for a little over a year, now." He says and I smile.
"That's awesome, congratulations to you both." I say and they both smile as Noah wraps an arm around her waist and pulls her closer.
"So, you're going to Alex's before the formal?" Chloe asks and I nod. "Thank god, me too. It'd be great to have a girl to get ready there with. I don't think I could handle getting ready for the dance in a house full of boys." She says and I laugh.
"I felt the same before I knew you were coming." I say and she grins. Yeah, I really like this girl. I turn to Alex who's watching the both of us. "That reminds me, I have to work right after school on Friday, so could you maybe pick me up at the diner at 4:30?" I ask and he nods his head.
