Scarlett
"Scar do you have any clothes to change into?" Chloe asks as we walk up the steps to the front door of Alex's house. I look over at her and shake my head before placing my hand on the large mahogany doors and pushing them open.
"No only the clothes I wore to work which have grease stains on them." I say annoyed that I forgot to bring extra clothes, but then again, I hadn't even known I'd be going back to Alex's after anyways. I curse Matty again for his persuasiveness.
Chloe nods. "I have a pair of cotton shorts you can wear but I don't have an extra shirt." She says and I look at her a little nervous.
"Shorts?" I ask my voice cracking and she nods.
"What's wrong with shorts?" She asks and I uncomfortably look down at the marble floor of the front foyer. The boys are carrying in coolers from the limo and they push through the front doors before dropping them on the floor.
"I'm just usually more comfortable in pants that's all." I say awkwardly and her eyes narrow slightly at me. Alex sets his cooler down on the ground before turning to me.
"Do you not have clothes to change into?" He asks and I shake my head. "I'm sure I can find you some clothes." He says and I smile in thanks. He turns and runs upstairs before coming down a few minutes later with a stack of clothes in his arms. "I found a pair of sweatpants in Cara's closet but the rest of the clothes in there were dresses so you'll have to settle for my sweatshirt." He says but I can see a grin playing at the corners of his mouth.
"Thanks." I say and as I head up the stairs, Chloe sends me a wink. I glare playfully at her and she grins. I hurry up the stairs to the bathroom I was in earlier and quickly strip out of the gorgeous dress Donna gave me. I pull on Cara's sweatpants and they fit in that perfect oversized style. I pull on Alex's sweatshirt over my head and breath in the smell of mint and forest. The smell of him has become so comforting lately and I'm somewhat glad that his sister didn't have any tops.
I scrape my hair into a messy ponytail before running back down the stairs to where the guys, who are now in their normal clothes, are sitting on the floor against the couches in the living room. I drop onto a beanbag and splay across it with a huff. "Too much dancing?" Connor asks with a laugh and I lift my head, which feels so heavy, to glare at him. "Tired?" He asks with a smirk.
"Yes, as a matter of fact I am exhausted." I say before dropping my head back on the bag. He laughs before I'm hit with something cold and hard. I open my eyes to find a water bottle laying on my stomach before glancing at Connor to find him with a fist shoved in his mouth to keep from laughing. I sit up and chuck the bottle at him and it hits him in the gut causing him to double over.
"Hey! I wasn't the one who threw it!" He shouts and I glance around the room to see Alex with a playful smirk on his face. I glare at him until he raises his arms in surrender.
"Alright, fine. I threw it, you caught me." He says but the annoying grin is still plastered to his face. I pick up a pillow from beside me and slowly walk over to him. The grin starts to slip away into a scared grimace. I raise my arms above my head before smacking him straight across the face with the pillow. I hit him again and again before he wraps his arms around my legs and pulls me down beside him, in an uncomfortable side hug. "Okay Jesus, I think that's enough." Alex coughs out after catching his breath. I shift in his arms to get comfortable before smiling up at him.
"I guess so." I say just as Chloe slides into the living room with a ginormous grin on her face. "What's got you so happy?" I ask and her smile grows even bigger.
"So, I was upstairs changing and guess what I found in the closet." She says and everyone shrugs their shoulders looking at her expectantly. "I found a few old mattresses!" She says and Matty looks over at her weirdly.
