You had Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) all your life. You were always excused from gym because of this. You often just sat in the hallway and stared at the kids playing sports like soccer, basketball, and so much more. You were doing that today, wishing you could play like everyone else. "I wish I could play like everybody else..." You whispered to yourself before reaching into your book bag and pulling out your drawling journal. You took the time to draw the other kids when they were playing sports. You grabbed your bag and moved a bit closer to the doors.
You sharpened your sketching pencil before starting to sketch. You drew a girl kicking a soccer ball into the goal while a boy tried to block and a group of boys playing basketball. When the bell rang, you grabbed your bag and started to walk towards Mr. Night's History class. You sighed as kids talked about how great the game was, PJ looked over as you hopped up the steps. He hummed in question before resuming the chat. History was long and boring for every one until the lunch bell rang. You got your things before walking outside and sitting on the steps.
Everyday your mom always came to give you the medication for your bones. You pulled out your phone and plugged your ear buds in before playing the song Try by Colbie Caillat. You loved this song since it reminded you that it was ok to be different. PJ walked outside with two trays when he saw you sitting on the steps. "Hey." You turned around to see PJ holding the two tray. "Hungry?" You nodded as PJ sat down next to you and handed you a tray. "Whatcha listenin' to?" "Try by Colbie Caillat." PJ nodded awkwardly.
"What are you doing out here?" Pj asked "Waiting for my mom to bring some stupid yet special milk I'm suppose to drink..." You responded as you took a bite out of (fav/food). Then your mom honked her horn, you were about to get up when PJ got up and trotted up to your mom's car. You tilted your head before PJ came back with the milk. You blushed lightly before smiling. Your mom drove away as you started to drink the milk. PJ noticed your drawling journal and grabbed it as you ate. He flipped through a few pages.
"Did you draw these?" You had just finished the milk and the lunch PJ got you before looking at him. "Oh yeah. I usually draw while you're... playing... sports..." PJ looked at you sadly before taking your empty tray and giving you a gentle hug. "I... actually think if you didn't gave OI... you'd be a great athlet." PJ admitted before he placed your journal on your lap as he pulled away from the hug. You smiled as you paused your music and placed your ear buds and phones in your bag. "Thanks PJ." Pj smiled before the bell rang.
"Come on." You grabbed your bag and walked next to PJ, you new friend.
