Later that night, Brad was lying on his back in bed holding Jen is his arms. He couldn't get out of his mind how Jen had said no to his proposal. He asked himself over and over again if she really loved him.
"Jen.." Brad finally asked breaking the silence.
"What?"
"Please marry me baby." Brad pretty much pleaded while holding her tight against him.
Jen sighed not wanting to bring this up again. "Look, Brad I'm sorry, but no.."
Brad just sighed and she felt his grip get loser and loser on her. "I love you just as much as I always have! We can still be together forever, just without a peice of paper, right?" Jen said propping herself up on her elbows beside him.
"I don't know.. I guess.. But do you think maybe in the future?.."
"No, Brad! I don't want to marry you! ...ever." she whispered the last part and it tore him up inside.
She rested her head back onto his chest and Brad looked down at her.
"I can't believe I'm saying this.." he whispered to himself. "Jen.. If you're not going to marry me, ever then.. we can't be together." Brad struggled to get out.
Jen giggled and held onto him tighter. "don't even joke about that."
"I'm serious Jen.."
Jen was now halfway hovering over him and tearing up. "You don't mean that."
"I do, Jen.. I can't be in a relationship that isn't going anywhere-"
"but we are going somewhere!" Jen interrupted crying.
"No, we're not. I can't do that. It will just be harder to do this later on so.. I'm breaking it off right now.." he whispered and you could hear is voice crack as he tried not to look at her.
"No.." Jen all but whined out and hovered over him and kissed him with everything she had. When she pulled away she hoped for him to change his mind but it didn't look good.
"It's still happening Jen." he replied.
"Brad, I love you! You can't do this!" she cried causing Brad to tear up.
"then marry me."
"No, you can't force me into it like this."
"Then I'm sorry but we're done baby.." he was now crying and Jen was sobbing and got out of the bed.
"where are you going?!" brad asked and got out of bed and walked towards her.
"you just broke up with me, remember?" she said rudely and headed for the door.
"Im not letting you go out like this and this late and you possibly get hurt over something stupid like this." he said grabbing her arm.
"over something stupid? You ending things with me is just.. something stupid?" she asked in disbelief and flopped onto the couch.
"Just leave me alone." she said angrily and Brad left her there and headed back to bed.
