The next morning Brad woke up and reached over for Jen and recalled what had went on last night and his whole reason for living vanished. But it was something he had to do. It was obvious that it would've had to have happened sometime and the longer they waited the harder it would be.

He went to go check on her in the living room and noticed she was gone. It was official. They were done...

...

Jen drove into work and and arrived to set last. She walked in and sat down at the table without saying a word and you could tell she had been crying.

"Jen? Are you okay?" Courteney asked walking to her.

"well.. Brad proposed last night." she trailed off.

"oh that's great! Let me see the ring!" they all shouted.

Jen started to tear up and took a moment to collect herself. "I said no.. and then he broke up with me." by the time she finished her sentence she was uncontrollably crying and Lisa rushed over to her and hugged her.

"Jen I'm so sorry.." she cooed. "this just doesn't seem possible."

"Yeah, he clearly loved you a lot and you obviously love him.." Matt said and then realized something. "wait.. why did you say no to him then?"

Jen explained her whole reason and the rest of the group sat in silence until Courteney spoke up.

"well I can see both sides of the situation.. But you two need to talk it out."

"we did, Court! He wont listen to me! Nothing is going to fix this, we're both set on our decisions.."

"Well then I guess there's no hope." Courteney said a little upset at the both of them and that made Jen cry even harder.

"quit sulking about this and let's work."

David got up and walked over to Courteney.

"What was up with that?! I'm sure that's not helping her!" David whispered aggressively

"if they are both too stupid to realize how stupid this is and how much they're in love then I'm not going to feel sorry for either of them!"

But she did feel sorry for them. She knew what they meant to each other but.. they would have to fix this themselves.

Later that night Jen went back to Brads place with a suitcase to pack up all her things.

"I'm just here to get everything.. " she said quietly when Brad let her in.

"oh.. okay." he said upset and watched her throw her things forcefully into a bag. She continued on into the bedroom and dug through the drawers for anything that was hers.

"Here.. these are yours." Brad said awkwardly and handed her some clothes that were thrown about the apartment from previous encounters.

Jen began crying and took them. "Thanks."

Brad couldn't stand watching her remove every part of herself out of his life and left the room. He couldn't bare to watch her cry and take all of their memories with her and pack them away. Before she left, she walked over to the nightstand and placed something there for him.

She walked back out into the living room and saw him sitting on the couch. "that's everything." she said shrugging her shoulders.

"You know, I've been waiting this whole time for you to change your mind." she let out and walked over to him. "Please.."

"No.. because I've been waiting for you to change your mind." he replied equally upset. He stood up and carressed her cheek while wiping away her tears. He then leaned in to kiss her and she backed away.

"Don't.. It will make this even harder." she whined but he stepped closer to her.

"I want to remember what it was like, so I can keep this memory with me.. please just kiss me one more time." he pleaded but she shook her head no.

"No.. You'll find someone else who you'd much rather kiss than me one day anyway. And I hope you have a happy marriage, she'll be the luckiest woman in the world to have you."

And with that she left leaving Brad thinking about what she had just said and walked back into his bedroom to find what she had left for him.
