Chapter 3

Komaeda's POV

We walked out of the building together. Hinata probably didn't know where we were heading so he just followed me. I of course knew where we were heading, I just hoped he liked it...

"Uhm... Hinata-kun? If you want to know where we're going you can just ask. I intended it to be a surprise, but if you want to know then I don't mind telling." I offered. He shook his head.

"Nah, if you tell me it'll ruin the surprise, right? Besides, I don't really need to know. I know that wherever you're taking us is gonna be fun." He said. I blushed a bit.

After a while Hinata noticed where they were going.

"The park?" He asked. I nodded. He smiled.

 We walked though the front gate and entered the park. The park was always a quiet and peaceful place. We used to play here often when we were younger. It was really beautiful, the grass was covered in flowers, colorful birds filled the trees while chirping happily and the fountain in the center reflected the sunlight in every direction. We walked over to a bench near the fountain. We often sat there when we went to the park. It had been a while since we last went here though. That was why I thought this would be the perfect place to take Hinata to. We sat down next to each other and enjoyed the beauty and the silence of the park for a while. I looked over to my side and saw Hajime quietly humming to himself with his eyes closed. I smiled. He looked so beautiful and perfect. He was always so calm and he made me feel calm too whenever I looked at him.

Suddenly I felt something lean against my arm. I looked at my side to see what it was. To my surprise it was Hinata. I must've been so lost in my thought I didn't notice him falling asleep. My face was all red now. What if someone saw us like this? I mean, I wouldn't really mind but he might would! I looked at him again, he looked so cute when he was asleep... No way am I gonna wake him.

I tried to grab a book out of my bag without waking Hinata. I flipped to the right page and started reading.

I got so caught up in the story that I lost track of time. I felt something move against my shoulder. I looked to my side and saw Hinata was awake again.

"Hello Hinata-kun! Did you have a nice nap?" I asked.

He looked around him with a confused look.

"Where... am I..?" He asked as he yawned.

"In the park, remember? We went here together after school." I said. His eyes widened.

"Oh shit... What time is it?" He asked. I looked on my phone.

"7.30 pm..." I said. Holy shit, I didn't notice it was that late already.

"Oh my god...  My mom's gonna be so angry if I'm home after dinner." He said.

"I'm so sorry Hinata-kun! If I woke you up earlier you would've been home on time." I apologized.

"No, that's okay! I should be the one apologizing! You're late home too and it's all because I fell asleep." He stood up and grabbed his bag. He turned around so he would face me.

 "I'm gonna run home now. Bye Komaeda!" He said as he turned around to run away.

"See you tomorrow!" I yelled after him. He held his hand up as a goodbye.

I sighed. I put my book back in my bag and started heading home too.

Hinata's POV

After a while of running I finally reached my house. I slammed the front door open and walked in. I was panting heavily and dropped myself on the ground. My mom walked in and saw me laying there.

"Where have you been? I was worried sick about you!" She exclaimed.

"I'm sorry mom. I was with Komaeda and-"

"What did I tell you yesterday?" She snapped, not letting me explain what happened.

"That I had to be cautious around him." I said. "But-"

"No buts! I told you to be cautious around him and here you are, getting home way too late. I don't even want to know what happened. I'll give you one last warning, if something like this ever happens again, I'll forbid you from talking to him."

"But mom, it wasn't even his fau-"

"Shut up!" She snapped. "Go to your room!"

I gave her one last glare as I walked upstairs to my room. I slammed the door shut and let myself fall on my bed. I was so done with everything. What did she even know about Komaeda? Nothing!

I groaned and turned on my back. My stomach hurt, I was really starting to get hungry, but I didn't want to go back and confront my mother. After thinking for a while I decided I would just go to bed early. I changed into my pajamas and lay down on my bed again. I closed my eyes and fell asleep.
