Going Home

I arrived at the bus stop, gladly alone. I couldn't handle a crowd right now. The bus screeched to a halt in front of me. I winced at the noise. I wearily climbed aboard, clutching my bags. I sat down in the first available seat, leaning back. The bus pulled shakily away from the curb. Finally done. Done with school for a few months.  I stretched, neck popping loudly. "Glad to be done with finals," a voice in front of me asked. I glanced up to see the guy from my English class smirking at me. I nodded, sighing internally. Fuckboy alert. "So I guess that means you're free," he said suggestively. I shook my head, "still have work, study, and being lazy. So no. Not free." "Study," he asked confused, "we don't have school for months!" "I like to get ahead," I lied. I'm not going to study anything. And I don't have work till Monday. I just plan on doing what I want. Which doesn't include you. "You can take a break, go to a party," he tried to convince me. "Nah," I shook my head,"I'm good." "Come on," he leaned closer to me, voice dropping low, "we could have some fun." "No," I pushed him away from me slightly. "Yes," he smirked. "No," I turned away from him. "Ye-" The bus pulled up to my stop and I quickly grabbed my stuff and left. I groaned, and began my walk home. I ducked into the ally, and saw a few thugs leaning against a wall. They left me alone. Probably because my face reads murder. I passed the street of fast food. Not today. An uneventful walk later, I was at my front door. I unlocked the door and slipped inside. Making sure I locked the door, I dragged myself and my bags up the stairs. I dropped my backpack in the study and the first aid kit on my bed. I changed into pajamas and flopped tiredly into bed. The kit shifted. Didn't she say there was a gift in the bag? I dragged the bag closer to me and slowly opened it. A plethora of first aid equipment greeted me. I scanned the bag, eyes falling on a small purple bag. I carefully pulled it out. Throwing the tissue paper carelessly off the bed I peered into the bottom of the gift bag. A small green and iridescent dragon plush stared up at me. Letting out a small awe, I pulled it out of the bag for a better look. It had sad eyes and magenta scales coating its belly.

I smiled, placing him on my bedside table

I smiled, placing him on my bedside table. I looked back into the bag and saw that he was sitting on a candy bar. Chocolate mint. She knows me. I tossed the now empty bag away and closed the first aid kit. I rolled off my bed and stretched. Loud cracks and pops emanated from my spine. Do I have back problems? Probably. I walked down stairs to get a snack. Foooooood, food, food. What to eat. Ice cream? Toast? Idk. Goldfish? Goldfish. I grabbed the tub of goldfish out of a cabinet, and poured myself a bowl. I put the tub away and took my snack up to my study. I tuned in my computer and proceeded to spend the few hours watching YouTube and playing games. When I finally pulled myself away to eat dinner it was nine at night. I slapped together a quick sandwich, eating it on my way around the house. All the doors and windows were locked, appearing untouched. I walked upstairs, and pulled the medical supplies off my bed. I tuned off the light and flopped into bed. And now I'm wide fucking awake! I sat up, dead tired. Lay back down, awake and energized. I rolled over so my face was to the wall and attempted to fall asleep. Just as I was about to fall asleep, after a few hours of lying still, I heard something tapping at my window. I lay still trying to keep my breathing steady, listening intently. There was a small click as my window unlocked. Robber or stalker. Stalker. There are plenty of windows on the first floor. The window slid open slowly and a cool breeze entered. I shivered. Soft footsteps padded across the room over to me. I held my eyes closed and my breathing steady. I waited until they were right next to my bed, then I struck. I erupted out of bed tackling the intruder. We hit the ground and I got pushed to the side. I jumped up to get a look at them, but a flashlight got shined in my eyes. I stumbled back shielding my eyes. I blinked rapidly to dispel the spots, but they were gone, an open window the only proof of their entry. I closed and locked the window. Fuck it I need sleep. I fell into bed, falling asleep nearly instantly.
