I sighed as my character died. Again. "Damn spikes," I muttered. Pushing my chair backwards I glanced at the clock. I don't have work today, but I have been planning to shop... I stood up slowly, stretching. "Might as well," I walked downstairs, "I guess I'll eat before I go." I grabbed some chicken salad from the fridge, eating quickly and tossing my fork in the sink. I slipped on my shoes and carefully tugged a jacket over my arm. Grabbing my purse I stepped outside, locking my door. Making my way over to the bus stop I mentally checked over my shopping list. Some new clothes, shirts and jeans. Some more clothing hangers, some books. Candy store! No. Yes. Fine. One thing. Soft pretzel as well? Why not. Also...more school/art supplies. The bus pulled up and I climbed on, the ride to the mall uneventful. I walked into the mall, waving lightly at one of the cameras. My phone pinged, a text.
?: What are you doing here? You aren't scheduled to work today are you?
It was Grim, I put in a contact for him before replying.
J: I occasionally go shopping, and all my stores are here. So it's easy.
G: you hate shopping Ghost
J: which is why I like having all my stores in the same place Grim, one stop.
G: true. Hope it goes well.
J: thanks, I hope you have a good shift.
I slid my phone back into my pocket, heading off to my first 'actual shopping' store.

I stood before my favorite candy place in the whole mall; munching on a giant soft pretzel. My bags hung from my arms, weight growing heavier with each passing minute. Candy candy candy! Only one. Why? Because sugar is bad for us. But WHY? Because...science. I finished off the pretzel, tossing the holding paper in a trash can. I stepped into the store, mind focused on the one thing I wanted. A giant lollipop. It's technically one candy.
"Hello welcome to Sweet Tooth Central, how may I help you," a young woman greeted me as I approached the counter.
"Hi," I replied, "May I get a giant lollipop, please?
"Sure," she nodded, "what color? They are all the same flavor."
"Rainbow," I smiled. She grabbed one of the rainbow pops out of the display, scanning it. I swiped my card to pay, happily picking up the candy.
"I'm going to assume by your expression that that isn't a gift for anyone else," she giggled, lighthearted. I nodded, before turning and heading quickly out of the mall. I waved at a different camera as I left and jogged to the bus stop. The ride home seemed to drag on forever. Finally we reached my stop. I hopped out of the bus and began to jog quickly home. I was trying not to run because of the stitches in my arm, and was pretty much failing. When I arrived I quickly threw my bags into my room to unpack later. I returned to the first floor and headed to the kitchen. Dinner before candy. Even though I'm still holding the lollipop. I turned into the kitchen to see a note stuck to the fridge. I placed the candy on the table before grabbing the paper.
Dear подсолнечник,
Mint suits you, calm and sweet. I will leave the 'robber' alone I guess. You like peppermint mochas, it makes sense. I don't like how often that officer keeps coming to your house. I have not yet tried to get into your house when you are home after your renovations, would you like me to? What is your favorite holiday?
-I
Sighing I pulled a pen and paper from a drawer. I should find a new location for our notes. Outside. Perhaps in one of the empty flowerpots out front. Maybe someone will call the cops for suspicious behavior. Then I won't be the one calling them, not my fault. I tapped my pen on the paper before beginning to write.
Dear I,
Please don't break into my house. My favorite holiday is probably Halloween. It's fun to see people of all different ages dressing up and having fun. I'm moving our note spot. I'll place mine in one of the flowerpots near the front door. You can do the same or slip the letter though the mail slot. It won't get buried in other mail. What color is your hair?
- J
I folded up the letter. Should I put it outside or on the fridge? Outside I guess. I walked to the front door, opening it only long enough to toss the letter into a pot. I guess I should leave a sticky note on the fridge to tell him where the letter is. I scribbled a quick, "check flowerpots near front door" sticking it haphazardly to the fridge. Pulling open the fridge I decided to make a quick sandwich. As I ate my eyes kept drifting to the candy lying innocently on the table. I placed my dish in the sink. Snatching the lollipop I darted upstairs. I flopped into bed, luckily not hurting my arm or head. I pulled the wrapper off the candy. I took one look at the swirl of colors before beginning to eat it. The pure artificial sugar coated my taste buds. I pulled up YouTube on my phone to watch some videos while I ate. The time passed swiftly and soon it was time to go to bed. I put the candy back in the wrapper. Changing into pajamas I fell quickly asleep.
