--Calista--
I'm 15 and I'm training for the 2035 olympics. I turn 16 a week before the olympics so I can train with the Olympic team. I'm really nervous but I'm not at the same time. With my mom being a 3 time Olympic gold medalist, that puts a lot of pressure on me to win gold. Today was our last practice before flying to London, England.
--At The Olympics--
Right now I'm about to do bars at my first Olympics. Im 16 so I'm the youngest of The Fab Five besides Rylie! My leotard is red and it goes ombré to blue. It's covered in rhinestones and has the team USA gymnastics logo on the right hip. I'm on tv right now and my mom told me she would be watching from home because she couldn't get a ticket to London in time. I salute and walk over to the uneven bars. My hands grip the bar and I start flying through the air.
--2 hours later--
Gymnastics events at the Olympics are officially done and now we're waiting for our medals. I knew I could make it to the olympics. Rylie was an alternate for the team if anyone got hurt and couldn't compete. The announcer starts awards for the uneven bars.
"And your 2035 London Olympics uneven bars champion is 16 year old Calista Morgan from the United States of America!" As soon as I heard my name I started crying tears of joy! I walk over to get my gold medal. I remember 4 years ago when I was training elite and I imagined having this gold medal. After awards I go do some interviews.
Interviewer: How do you feel getting your first gold medal at 16?
Calista: It feels great because my mom has 3 Olympic gold medals and I've always wanted to carry on her legacy.
Interviewer: Do you regret not becoming a soccer star like your mom, Alex Morgan?
Calista: I tried soccer when I was 4 but I just had no interest in it. I started gymnastics when I was 2 and I never wanted to stop flipping around the house. I definitely don't regret it right now because I have a gold medal around my neck in the sport that I've loved basically since I was born.
--After Awards and Interviews--
"Calista!," I heard someone yell, "Calista!" I turn around and I see my mom in the stands. I run over to her and give her a big hug. "Congrats baby girl! You have your first gold medal!" She said. "It's my first and definitely not my last!" I told her. "I thought you couldn't make it to London?" I asked. "Well I went to the airport and because a ton of people in the airport know me I got a last minute flight out here." My mom said. "Where's dad?" I ask. "He got a gold medal too!" She said. "I guess gold medals run in the family!" I said "I guess they do champ!" My mom replied. Rylie was an alternate and Mia was a part of the official team like me! They congratulate me on my first gold medal! I knew I could make it and get a gold medal! Everyone except for my teammates, my parents, Rylie and Mia, and my coaches told me it was impossible to get to where I am right now! This is just the start of doing what I love professionally!
