Liam’s P.O.V.

(1 week later)

I was seated in my private workroom working on a new reform for the kingdom which would enhance trade and make the kingdom more prosperous. It was something sorely needed for a certain part of my kingdom was threating rebellion and I couldn’t allow that to happen. It would make look like a weak ruler and I was most certainly not a weak ruler. I was Liam who had defeated the mighty Tragoians.

I continued to scribble on the reform when I heard someone running up to my door. The person knocked and I shouted for them to come in. In came a young servant who looked frantic with information.

“Your majesty.” The servant said with a small bow. He got up real quick and straightened himself out. “My king, I was sent to tell you that the four Tragoian prisoners are here.” He said, bowed and walked out of my workroom.

I didn’t realize that they would be here this early. I wasn’t expecting them to send prisoners at all. I actually wonder who they sent because I remember the rumors that if the Tragoians were defeated the prisoners were picked at random from the entire kingdom. No one was safe except the king and queen. Their own children weren’t even safe.

I went back to the document before me and read it to make sure if everything was set.

This is a direct order from the King of Lagois, Liam James Payne,

I hereby order the direct trade of the Tragoian Kingdom to begin with us. We will collect half of all their tax and send it to the other districts of the kingdom.

I hereby order that Tragoian Kingdom is a-part of the Lagoian kingdom as a submitted servant kingdom that will follow all the laws laid down by me.

I hereby order that the prisoners that the Tragoian Kingdom has sent me will be not used as slaves and will be treated as respected guests of the kingdom.

In all fairness with all the rest of the laws below and above this will have the same punishment.

I stopped reading the document and prepared myself to meet the four prisoners. I quickly put on my less regal looking robe and headed straight for the throne room.

It took, but a few dull minutes to arrive at the throne room and when I arrived I saw a sight I wasn’t expecting at all. Four young lads about my age were standing in front of my throne. One was dressed like a peasant, one like a merchant, one like a soldier and one was dressed much like a prince. This was the oddest arrangement of prisoners I have ever seen. I’ve seen a lot of prisoners in my life.

A guard stepped in front of me and handed me a note.

“This is for you to read later sire. It is from the King of Tragos.” He said quietly and walked off.

“You guards are dismissed until further notice. Keep royal guards here though because it is their duty.” I commanded and everyone, but the royal guards left. I turned to face the prisoners. They all looked shocked and worried. “Fear not. I may not know your names, but you aren’t my sla—“

“Please don’t kill us master.” The one dressed in peasant clothes said, cutting me off completely. I wasn’t even going to get mad over it. They have their rights as humans the same as I do. Mine might be different because of my class, but we still have rights.

“Harry, keep your voice low. That isn’t anyway to speak to the man who is our master now.” The princely looking one said smacking the other in the back of the head.

“There is no need for such violence. I am not your master and you’re not my slaves. Yes you were sent here as prisoners to serve me, but I don’t like servants. Everyone in this castle is a free man and gets paid.” I said politely and smiled at them.

They tensed up after I finished and they went back to looking shocked. The prince-looking one regained his senses and took a step forward.

“You are by far the fairest person I’ve ever met. My father hates slaves and works them till they die. I have been raised to believe that if I was ever sent away that I would serve that person till I die.” He spoke quietly and his voice had sadness in it.

“I won’t work you till you die. You are free to roam or leave if you wish. I shall assign rooms in the castle for you if you choose to stay. If you wish to work that is your choice, but you shall just be my guests here.” I glanced at them and saw them just staring at me. “But I would like to know your names, if that is alright with you.” I finished and soon the throne room doors opened.

In came the same servant who had told me that these four lads had arrived.

“Can I help you again?” I asked politely.

He bowed and was slightly out of breath. “Milord, your document is needed.”

“O, I see. It is in my workroom on the desk. See that it has my seal and deliver it at once to the scribes.” I commanded and off went the servant towards my workroom.

“You let them walk around in your private areas?” The one dressed as soldier asked somewhat annoyed.

“Yes. Is that a problem?” I inquired and raised my eyebrow. He shook his head and looked down at the ground. “So come now, tell me your names.”

The merchant one finally stepped forward and bowed slightly. “I am Louis Tomlinson your majesty and I used to work with my father as a merchant.”

“Welcome Louis to my kingdom. I am Liam.” I smiled and he bowed again. The one dressed as a peasant stepped forward kind of timidly and bowed deeply.

“I am Harry Styles my king and I am just a poor peasant. Take no notice of me.” He really was timid and I felt really bad.

“You aren’t a peasant here Harry. Guard, send for the royal designer. Harry here needs some nice clothes.” The guard went out the door quickly.

“I am Zayn Malik milord. I was a royal guard in the kingdom.” I turned to face Zayn who was bowing.

“It is okay not to bow to me for this moment Zayn.” I said kindly.

“It is not proper to not bow to a king.” He said quietly and rose to face me.

“Let me guess Zayn. He was the one you guarded.” I pointed to the princely clad lad and Zayn nodded.

“I am Prince Niall Horan of Tragos.” He bowed slightly and I bowed slightly to him. “Why do you bow to me Liam. I am below you.” He said rather sternly.

“I just felt like it.” I replied and turned around. “Do you need anything at this time?” I asked all of them while facing my throne.

“No we are good.” Niall said. “We wo—“

The door burst open and the servant ran in again.

“Milord, you have a message.”
