Lucy's POV

"I...so....uc..Pl..e..om..b.....o..e..."

Everything is so dark. All I hear is static.

"Lu..."

"Who's there?" I called.
What's going on?

"Lucy. Listen to me. You have to find the door."

"Who are you? What door?" I asked.

"Hurry! He's coming!"

I began to run.

"I can't find the door. Where is the door?" I shouted.

"Quickly! We haven't much time!"

Everything around me is so dark. I can't see anything. Am I even going the right way?

"Just tell me where the door is!"

"..."

There's so much static. It's getting worse. I can't hear her.

"Ssssscccccrrrrreeeeeeeeeccccchhhh!"

"No! Please! Don't leave me here!"

"You better start running." An ominous voice cackled.

I began to panic, turning around looking for the voice. I smacked into something hard.

"A-a door?"

A large wooden door with brass handles loomed over me. A sense of relief and familiarity filled my body. Cautiously, I turned the handle, and opened the door. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I was back in the Hearfilia mansion. Light streamed into the room from the large windows on my left. A small cough made me look deeper into the space. There, sitting on a warm sofa, was a young woman. She had beautiful golden hair and warm brown eyes. I began to weep.

"Mom?" I asked timidly.

The woman looked up.

"Mom!" I yelled, running into her arms.

"Look at you." She said, in a soft, sweet voice.

I buried my face in her shoulder.

"You're all grown up. Strong and wise." She whispered.

I felt her grow stiff.

"Mom?" I asked, lifting my head.

She had grown ghostly pale, and her eyes and cheeks sunk into her face.

"Mom! Mom what's wrong?!"

She grabbed my arms, digging her nails in deep enough to draw blood.

"Mom you're hurting me." I whispered.

"Huuuuu... huuuh huuuh huuuh... huaaaah huaaah huaaa!"

A menacing voice came from my mother's lips.

"I thought I told you to run, little girl?!"

My mother's face began to change. Her jaw popped and cracked. She opened her mouth wide and displayed a large row of jagged fangs. I looked to her eyes, pleading with my own, but they were gone. Instead, large gaping holes stood in their place, dripping with blood.

"Ssssscccccrrrrreeeeeeeeeccccchhhh!"

I ripped from her arms and jumped through the window.

"I'm sorry Lucy. Please come back to me." A familiar voice echoed.

Just as I was about to hit the ground, I opened my eyes and felt my soul slam into my body. Looking around in a panic, I realized I was back in the palace, safe in bed.

"Your finally awake." A groggy voice said.

I turned my head to the left and saw Griffon sitting next to my bed. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hand and smiled.

"I'm glad you're okay." He said, lifting me up and hugging me.

I winced in pain.

"What's wrong?" He asked, concern spreading over his face.

I turned over my arms and froze. Long, deep gashes ran up my forearms, blood seeping onto the bed sheets.

"Oh my God. Stay right here I'll go grab bandages." Griffon whispered.

Before I had a chance to protest, he kissed my head and ran out the door.

It wasn't a dream.

In the back of my mind, I could still hear the screeching noises, and see the empty holes, that were once my mother's eyes.
