Chapter 15: Wait and Pray

The trudge back to the small village was a tedious journey. Elora was light as a feather but carrying her without hurting her more was time-consuming.

It was four or five days before they finally got to the village. Edmund's eyes widened. There was literally no village. It was completely gone. Only ash and ruin remained. Edmund felt tears well in his eyes and she blinked them back. They would have to stay here until help came.

Edmund looked down at Elora, she had barely awoken she was injured, Edmund barely knew what happened. Apparently she had been shot with an arrow is what Lucy told him. But the amount of blood Elora had lost and was still losing if she was bumped the wrong way was a lot.

"Edmund." He looked down at her, she was looked at him, her blueish-green eyes were nearly glazed over.

"Yes, Elora."

"It hurts. Everything in me hurts." She murmured before going unconscious again. He pressed a soft kiss to her temple and nodded.

"I know, I know." He answered, she didn't answer.

Edmund looked at Lucy and Peter.

"What are we supposed to do?" He asked. Peter shook his head.

"I don't know. Wait and pray." He answered. Edmund did just that..
