SUPRISE!

About a week had passed since the beginning of this new world, so far we hadn't seen the first sight of the military we could hear loud booms in the distance maybe from some kind of bombs or explosions near the city. We were beginning to run low on supplies with 14 people to take care of and feed we are going through the food and other necessities to deal with daily life, a couple of the men are going to go into downtown Atlanta soon and scout of the local houses to find some much needed supplies. Surprisingly with in the small amount of time of a week and a half Carl, Sophia, and Matt had become the best of friends even though they are a little older than him with Carl being 7 and Sophia being 6 they act like they've know each other forever. Megan and I have also become very close to Lori and Carol they are very wonderful and nice women, I fill so bad for Carol knowing just how mean her husband is to her and how she just puts up with it like that's how things are supposed to be, she said that she has been married to him for 15 years, I could never imagine being with somebody that mean and cruel and careless to your spouse.

It was still early morning around 9am when Shane, Glenn, Merle and Andrea decided to head into the city to get the things we needed. I had wrote down a list of things that Megan, Matt and myself needed from the run, lucky for Megan and me Shane was nice enough to take one of Megan to the bottom of the hill where there was a tiny gas station so we could get us some cigarettes to last us awhile. I really just wanted something to do with my time since we seem to have a lot of it, and it seems like it is going to stay that way for a while since there is no current action of help. The TV system went out on the very first day after the emergency broad cast the radio hung in until the 3rd or 4th day but now it's just static too. If I knew that the apocalypse would be this damn boring I would have brought myself some books. I have to say I truly do miss my phone not being able to call my mom and dad not knowing if they are okay and safe or if this world consumed them.

As the crew took off down the hill towards Atlanta Matt and me sat down in the dirt to play with his toy cars and trucks I don't think he has ever played outside this much in his whole life. Normally he would play on the swings or in his sandbox for thirty minutes or so and then come in wanting to watch TV or play on his tablet. I never realized how much I missed spending time with my little boy I was always at work or asleep because of my work I would leave and be gone for twelve or sixteen hours at a time it never seemed like I was home enough. Maybe that's the one good thing that can come out of all of this is that I can spend all day and all night with the sweet little boy that god blessed me with.

It was 2:30 in the afternoon and I decided to go down to the pond and wash off, I picked up Matt and grabbed our things walking down the hill Megan decided she would join us since it had been a couple days since washing up since there is always so many people around. Since Matt was only 3 I just let him jump in naked but I decided that it would be for the best if I kept my bra and underwear on that way in case anybody showed up it wouldn't be that embarrassing. We finished washing up and Matt finished playing in the water so we toweled off walking back up the hill to have lunch, when we finally reach the top we went I went into the RV and made us 3 sandwiches and grabbed a bag of chips and took it out to Megan and Matt who were waiting at the picnic area near our tent. As the day went on we were expecting them to be back soon from Atlanta they had been gone for nearly ten hours we were getting a tad bit worried but Dale reassured us all that they were okay and would be back before night fall.

It was almost dark when we heard a loud truck pulling its way up the hill we figured that it bad to be them bringing back the stuff that they found and I hope that they found everything we needed until we could make it to a different location. There has been a lot of talk going around about maybe going to the CDC or maybe Fort Benning to see if humanity could be restored and we could all go home back to our normal lives sooner or later. When they pulled up in the truck they jumped out and Shane made an announcement "I just wanted to let you know that we got everything on the list and a little more, but I have an even bigger surprise for 2 people" he said as he turned around motioning at somebody in the back of the truck. As the person hopped out I seen Lori drop to her knees crying and Carl running towards the truck, it was Rick he was somehow alive. After seeing him in the hospital in that coma plus the military coming in and killing everything and those biting monsters I don't know how he survived, I looked over at Megan who was just as shocked as I was that this man made it.

After a wonderful reunion of Rick and his family we did learn that there was some bad news to and that was that Merle had somehow got handcuffed and they dropped the key down the drain and he escaped by cutting off his own hand. Apparently they looked all over the city resulting in arriving back here late but they still couldn't find him, and now they don't know how to explain it to Daryl who is still out hunting and hasn't made it back yet. We decided that we would head off to bed so we could get up in the morning and decide if we were going to remain here or travel on looking for a bigger community, so Megan grabbed up Matt and we headed off to our tent leaving today behind and being hopeful of tomorrow. I woke up to the sun beaming in threw the little window on the side of the tent were I could hear some bickering coming from, I threw on my shoes and decided to walk out and see what all the fuss was about.

When I made it over to the RV were Rick and Daryl were arguing I realized that Daryl had just found out that his brother Merle was missing and he thought that nobody seemed to care. He said that he was going to find him even if he had to go alone because Merle was all he has left, he seems to have a lot of demons on his mind since he stays so grouchy all the time we had been together in the camp for 2 weeks and the whole time we have been here he's been nothing but hateful even though he brings back food for us. After they finally settled things we all decided to sit down and talk about if we were staying or going, I sat down on the log between Megan and Dale lighting up a cigarette and passing the pack to Megan. I began listing to all the ideas and mostly everybody was pushing more towards leaving here and head to the CDC lab to see if this virus has a cure, we decided that we would leave first thing in the morning and that everybody should get a good night's rest because we will be on the road for nearly 4 or 5 hours.

We all just lounged around all day Amy and Andrea took the little canoe boat down to the water and decided to catch us some fish for a fish fry for dinner tonight they were down there for a while but when they came back they brought up 20 fish for everyone. We threw the fish down into a pan letting them fry up when Amy excused her for a moment, she wasn't gone long and we heard a loud blood curdling scream rushing over to see Amy had been bit on the neck by Ed who had turned into one of those monsters. Daryl took Ed down instantly by putting a crossbow bolt straight threw his skull, he went to do the same to Amy but Andrea threw a fit refusing for anybody to touch her so we all stepped back giving her space but still keeping an eye on things.
