Jake PoV
"The first test is an agility one, which requires you to reach the end of the hallway," The damn AI says, as I feel dizzy. When I shake my head, I'm in a hallway; one similar to that game...Portal, was it? Next to me are various people, different species' and heights. No one I recognise. Soon enough, a beep sounds through the hallway, and we all begin to run to the end. But then I hear screams. A glance behind me reveals spider-like pods, capturing people, and what's left are ashes. Ashes. This place is NOT safe...liars... I narrowly escape one, leaping over others to reach the end. Like hell I'm dying! I've died once before, and I ain't dying again! I look behind me, only 10 of us are alive; and there was 30 to begin with.
"Congratulations to the ten that survived. You shall be returned to your cell shortly," A robotic voice rings out, as the people around me vanish.
When I shake my head, I'm back in my cell. On a table was food. Food. Actual. Food. Already sorted for me. Not sure if I should trust it, I take a small bite, as I sit down. There is no noticeable effect, so I eat more. I shake my head, dizzy. What in the actual hell? Why the heck am I dizzy?! Maybe it's the lights... I sigh, finishing the plate. "Now we wait?..." I ask myself quietly, going over to the bed and laying down on it. I yawn, tired, and close my eyes.
A few minutes sleep doesn't kill anyone, right?
