Awakened [Book 1 of The GLITCHED Trilogy]

Chapter 22

Jane PoV

"J-Jake!" I yell, running forward towards the creature. I get flung back, however I quickly get up. "You're not getting him. Not until you are all on the ground unconscious." The being says, as he glares at the scanner in my hand. "Glitchy, we can't just leave Jake!"I yell "I'm afraid we will have to." It responds. "No!" I launch the scanner down the hall as I prepare to fight. I've survived hounds, deer, Maxwell...I can survive this.

I grab a pole from one of the walls and charge at the bird creature, who flies back. I manage to hit it's chest, before I get flung into the wall. I get up, despite the wave of dizziness. "I'm not going down that easy...." I mutter, glaring at the bird who lunges at me. I stab the pole forward, and right into its neck. Black blood spews everywhere, covering me. Jake scrambles upwards and picks up the bird creature. He throws it down the hall into the wall, causing a crack....And another...."Run." We both say as we run, grabbing the scanner and making our way out of the lab. Dust causes us both to cough, but we continue. We are NOT getting buried alive.

Poor 3LLIS, they just wanted freedom. Oh well! Just a small announcement - I have 4 backstories planned, possibly five if it's the WHU aswell, and 3 side stories. So pretty much, Glitched isn't just a three to four part series!
