Awakened [Book 1 of The GLITCHED Trilogy]

Chapter 3

Glitchy PoV

I chuckle, travelling through the wires. Being an AI incharge of the building was interesting, as you never know what the subjects might be doing to the wires hidden within the walls. And they are so gullible! They really beleive that I won't harm them. Just they wait....But then again...I'm only doing this because Nicholas wants me to. I could just exit, but then the WHU would be on me again, and she would also be onto Jane and Shadow....

I reappear on the screen in Shadow's cell, to see him knocked out. His face is on the table next to the half-eaten food. Guess he ate it then. I activate something, and Shadow disappears. I travel through the wires, going deeper into the earth. I appear on a screen in a brick room, hidden underneath the lab. Shadow is laying on the bed there. Perfect. Now I can test a thing I've been working on for ages, and Nicholas never allowed me to use it as a proper experiment because she says it's 'too dangerous'. She never said private experiments. If she finds out I'm doing this, she is going to kill me. She thinks shes dangerous, I'll show her dangerous later.

I wake Shadow up, he groans before noticing he's somewhere else. "Shadow, you have been selected for a special test. Please stick your arm out." I say in my friendly voice, hiding my danger behind it. He sticks his arm out, and I activate an arm to come out of the wall with a USB style needle. "In this is a sample of liquid AI. I need to see how it affects monsters." I say, still sounding friendly. He nods, or how stupid he was. I know this works, and I know what it will do. The USB style needle enters the side of his neck, that small section glowing a faint orange. It fades, but the glow seems to be moving towards where the mind is. Perfect. The glow fades, and his once white eyes glow orange, but faintly. "Sir, is there anything I can do for you?" He asks. "Not yet, Shadow. Not yet." I reply.
