"She's a Saturday out on the town, And a church girl on Sunday. She's a cross around her neck, And a cuss word 'cause it's Monday." -Brad Paisley, She's Everything
"Don't forget the little moments. They're the ones that mean the most. When the way home seems so far away, Take 'em out and hold them close. And take a picture with your father, 'Cause one day he'll be gone. And don't forget to fill an old shoebox. Full of things to look back on. Full of things to look back on." -Chris Young, The Shoebox

Pulling back the door to Ellas (Jareds horse) stall, I step in and close the door behind me. Reaching up and rubbing across her neck, I sigh. "I'm sorry girl. You haven't had much attention lately, have you? You are the reason I started to be a rescue and haven't even worked with you recently." I continue down her neck and rub across her back, "Well we can go get a nice bath and brushing how does that sound?" She turns and looks at me with her soft brown eyes before putting her head back down to nibble on the scarps of hay. Smiling I shake my head. "That doesn't answer the question ya know. But I know you like baths so I'll give you one anyway." Stepping closer to the stall door I reach and grab her halter and lead rope, one of the few I refuse to get rid of because it was Jareds, I have one saved from Ethan too. Looping the halter around her head and clasping it I lead her out to the cross ties with the drain. Clipping the ropes to her halter so she can't wander off, I collect the brushes. I run the brush across her side and back several times to remove the dust and dirt. Then reach down and brush across her barrel (stomach for non horsey people) and watch as the dust floats around in the air before settling down again. I hate that nobodies had time to just be around her and our other horses. It's been all work and riding, after working with the rescues. I finish brushing her down and walk over to the table with the small radio on it, I turn it to the christian/country channel and turn it up. Humming along to the song playing I think about how my family always played this station throughout the barn; as it had both of our favorite kinds of music.
"It's knocking heads and talkin' trash. It's slinging mud and dirt and grass. It's I got your number, I got your back. When your backs against the wall. You mess with one man you got us all. The boys of fall." I jump at the new voice behind me. I see Logan standing by the radio. "Hey, didn't mean to scare ya. I didn't even know this thing worked. So good to know it does, now I can blare the music durin' work."
"Yeah it works. I haven't used it in like a year, so I'm glad it does. Besides, people can share their lovely singing abilities." I tease.
"Oh come on I'm not that bad. I'd like ta see ya or Owen do better. My singing is perfectly fine."
"One I ain't singing to compete and impress nobody. And if ya say so..."
He doesn't respond, and I continue my search for the sponge to help soap up Ella. Then I feel cold water spray directly into the center of my back. "You are so dead! You little Jerk!" I say squeaking at the cold as I walk towards him. I reach the hose and pull it from his grasp as he grabs a bucket of soapy water. "You wonna play this game? You won't win." I say pointing the nozzle in his direction and squeezing.
"Holy crap that's cold! You are gonna get it!" He says as he runs towards me trying to get me with the bucket. This continues for about ten minutes before I end up next to Ella with the hose. I take the nozzle of the hose so it's just the end so I can hold my thumb over the end and spray more. But then the hose is gone. I feel cold running down my head and across my shoulders. I look up shocked wondering how Logan got behind me but, see him standing in front of me still. Then I see Ella shaking her head out of the corner of my eye and see water flying at Logan. The hose in her mouth. She continues to shake her head around and get us drenched. Finally we both are shaking so hard laughing and sit on the ground against a wall. The hose still sitting by Ella as she plays in the water.
We hear foot steps coming form the entrance of the barn and see Owen coming. At this point Logan and I have mostly calmed down. As he walks up he sees us. "Umm what happened? Did you forget who you were giving the bath too? Cause you're kinda soaked."
As I got to answer I see Ella has managed to pick up the hose again, and that Owen is standing close to her head. Then she moves, Owen jumps turning away from us and looks at her. All she does is swing the hose around and fling water everywhere. "That's what happened. She gave us a bath instead.....Well she was partly done when that happened." I say smiling and standing up. "She just wants to plaaaaayy." I say dragging out the Ay sound. "She likes the water." Then I feel arms around me from the back. "I'm already covered you nuckle head." I say to Logan as he tries to get me wet as well. I pry his arms off before throwing my own over Owen. "You looked a little out of place. Everyone else is covered and you weren't. Now you are." And with that Logan takes the hose and spray it over our heads.
