"Shit, this can't be real." I once again looked at the silver time transfer, and the green numbers once again shine back at me. "But it says 500 years, it really does." I inhaled loudly.
Hunter quickly took the time transfer and was about to put one of the side's recess, (which was bit bigger than a wrist), to his own wrist so he could transfer the time to his own clock, but I quickly stopped him.
"What are you doing?" I hissed.
Hunter frowned and put down the time transfer, so I let go off his arm. "What are you doing?"
"It could be a trap! I mean 500 years, that-that's not possible! Especially here in the ghetto." I noticed that I had raised my voice so I lowered it a bit. Nobody could find out that we had a time transfer with 500 years in my little apartment, even if it was a trap or not. "It just can't be true."
Hunter looked at me and then glanced at the time transfer. "But what if it's not. What if it's real. Don't you wanna know?"
I slowly nodded. "You've right." I glanced at the time transfer too. "I wanna know."
I heard Hunter inhale and exhale loudly. "Well.. Let's see what's happening." Hunter took up the time transfer and slowly put it against his wrist. I heard a clicking noise and saw Hunter's clock start ticking backwards, he got time. After a few seconds he took the time transfer away from his wrist.
I quickly took it and put it against my own wrist. I heard the clicking noise again and my clock started ticking backwards, just like Hunter's had done. After a few seconds I put the time transfer down on the kitchen table again.
"How many years do you have?" We said at the same time.
I looked at my clock, still couldn't believe that I had all that time. I had never had this much time before. "I have..." I inhaled and exhaled slowly. "I have 60 years. You?" I looked up at Hunter.
"62." He answered shortly.
"How do you feel?"
"Good, how do you feel?"
"I feel good too." I widened my eyes and let out a joy howl. "We have time!" I screamed. "We have 500 years!" I started jumping and jumped into Hunter's arms.
"Wohoo! We have 500 years." He yelled and lughed.
----------
Me and Hunter sat by my kitchen table with the time transfer in the middle between us. I held up the note, that said: Run while you can.
"What is this anyway?" I shook my head.
"I don't know. Maybe it's just some prank or something." Hunter shrugged.
"But if it was a prank, why would the person who did it give us so much time?" I frowned.
"I don't know, but maybe that's not the most important right know."
"Yeah, you've right. Who cares?" I tore the little papper note in pieces and threw it in the garbage can.
"So, what are we going to do now?" Hunter asked. "We have 500 years."
"I don't know. But we should hide the rest of the time, at least for now." Hunter nodded and I took the time transfer and went into my room. I opened my little wardrobe and put the time transfer in the pocket of my one and only jacket.
I went back to Hunter. "And for now, we should keep working, act like everything's normal. So no one will get suspicious."
Hunter slowly nodded again. "Okey."
----------
-5 days later-
Hunter and I once again came home from a day off work. I stopped Hunter once we walked into my apartment. "Something's wrong."
"What do you mean?"
I looked around. "I think someone's been in here." I quickly ran into my room and started to look in my closet. Once I found the time transfer intact I could breath out. I put the time transfer deeper into the closet and went back out to Hunter. "The time transer is safe."
Hunter didn't answer, he just looked out from my kitchen window. I went up next to him and looked out through the window. A few floors down, on the ground, three men walked quickly against the entry door to the apartment building. They where dressed in simple suits.
"Do you know who they are?" Hunter asked me.
I nodded. "Yeah. Do you?"
Hunter nodded too. "Yeah.
We looked at each other and said. "Minutemen." They where probebly the ones who had been in my apartment, I thought. Now they where going to rob us. That's who they are, criminals.
We quickly walked away from the window, while the minutemen walked into the apartment building. "How can they know that we have time?" I said and I heard a scared tone in my voice. I didn't want to be scared.
"I guess they have ears and eyes everywhere. I mean they live on robbing people."
"Hide! I know what to do."
"What?" Hunter looked at me like I was crazy. "No, I'm not leaving you!"
"We don't have time to arguing! Any second that door is gonna open and the minutemen is going to come! I know what to do! Please, I can take care of my self."
Hunter slowly nodded and ran further into the apartment. Just when I saw him disappear the door flung open and the minutemen barged in.
"Hey? What's happening?" I don't really know why I was trying to play stoned but it was the first thing that popped up in my head. I tried to get my voice to sound groggy. It wasn't so hard when you had lived with a stoner half of your life.
"Don't play dumb." One of the minutemen say and glared at me. He probebly was the leader. "I know you're not a stoner."
I widened my eyes. "What? How can you know that?"
"I knew your sister. Vivian Jones."
"What?" My normal voice was back. I was confused and didin't even notice when he walked up to me and put his wrist against mine. A clicking noise was heard and my clock started to tick.
Fuck, I thought angry. Never let your guard down when there's minutemen around you.
I tried to pull away my hand but he was much stronger than me.
"I've might have screwed her once or twice." The minuteman just grinned at me when I once again tried to pull away my hand, but to no use.
How could he be so damn strong? Even tho I was terrified, I tried not to show any emotions. Was I going to time out now? I didn't want to die.....
