Judging by the title, I'm basically talking about my first ever concert experience, which was with Melanie Martinez, in July of last year (2016).
So, it was about a month before the concert, and I found out I was doing utterly nothing that day. I couldn't afford M&G tickets, nor could my friend who went with me, but I was able to afford regular old general admission tix.
So, when I asked my friend if she would wanna go to, she, first off, said "Seriously?" Since thought I was joking. Then I said seriously back, and she told me she screamed. She was the one to reintroduce me to Mel (since i kinda forgot about her oops) and get me obsessed, so I wanted her to go with me. Another one of my friends (one I've known for almost 10 years, its shocking since she's almost 14 and I'm almost 15 and our--ok you don't care back to the story) also went but I didn't about it, but ya know.
I got the tickets for me and mom about 2 weeks before (my friend got hers on her own) and my friend took a ride with my mom and I. The concert was July 21st, the day after the MCRX teaser was released and everyone kinda died and...that tweet was released, so the concert helped me forget about THAT.
But anyways the waiting line for the concert was about maybe a couple hours or so, since we got there at about 5 almost 6 o'clock. Ny other friend got there at about 6:45, and she joined us in line for about another 20 minutes.
Of course, we had to wait another half hour for the opening artist, Handsome Ghost, which he was great, but during that I met a 18 y/o and we literally talked about how great and pretty mel was and all.
Then, after Handsome Ghost, we had to wait about a half hour more for Melanie, which was fine with me, and during that two people passed out. Wonderful.
Then, finally, Melanie came on! Her entrance was awesome, and I loved it alot! I may or may not have started crying but we sang Crybaby and Sippy Cup, and she did talk a bit in between. Then she went through all of the songs off of the regular album. During tag, you're it a guy almost fainted on me, but it's all cool. After performing all 13 songs, she then went off, and came back on, asking if we wanted 2 more songs, which we all were stoked about. She performed Gingerbread Man, one of my favorite songs, which sounded absolutely beautiful live. She then performed Cake, which was a fan favorite, since everyone screamed.
After that, the concert was over. My mother, who went on the balcony, said she wasn't super shocked by some of the things Mel said, but she enjoyed it.
And that was my concert experience. Minus the cigarettes and alcohol smell + crowding, it was amazing. Melanie is an actual angel, and she is gorgeous in person. She had ny favorite color (blue) in her hair, and her makeup slayed.
Thanks for reading, if ya did.
