- Alanna -

In a matter of ten minutes the boys had all scarfed down their food. I was pretty hungry myself and had finished eating pretty quickly. Now there was an awkward silence hanging in the air as we all sat there.

Michael was sneaking his phone under the table – since Ashton had forbidden the boys from bringing theirs to the table. Luke was awkwardly inspecting his glass of alcohol, as if it was the most interesting thing he'd ever seen. The one with dark hair and chocolate brown eyes was staring down at his plate, pushing his fries around the plate with his pizza crust. I had forgotten his name, since he hasn't said a word to me.

"So... The talk..." Ashton trailed off. I lifted my gaze from my plate and looked over at him.

"Remember how I told you we were in a band?" Ashton asked me, and when I nodded he continued. "Well, we have a lot of eyes on us at all times and it can be pressuring. If you aren't comfortable with that we don't have to go out tomorrow."

"It's okay..." I quietly said – it couldn't be that bad. Right?

"I just want you to know it can be intense with paparazzi following you and fans crowing around you. And a lot of questions will get thrown at you. I don't want you to be overwhelmed," Ashton explained.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" he finally asked.

"I'm sure," I nodded.

"Okay. Give me your plates," Ashton changed the subject.

"Can I go upstairs?"

"Of course," he nodded, and carried our plates over to the sink to wash them.

I quietly thanked him before jogging up the stairs and down the hallway to my room. Once inside I collapsed into the chair and went onto the Internet, typing 5 Seconds of Summer into the search bar.

The first thing to pop up were picture of the boys. Outdated pictures must have popped up first, because the pictures looked a little different from the boys I was living with. I moved my mouse up towards videos to listen to some of their songs, but ended up clicking on 'news' instead.

"'Luke Hemmings charged for hitting a reporter,'" I read out loud, my eyes widening.

Curiosity got to the best of me and I found myself clicking on the link.

'Luke Hemmings, a 20 year old in the popular band 5 Seconds of Summer, has been charged with assault for hitting a reporter on Friday night. Hemmings was spotted leaving a LA club with a mysterious female, who he's been pictured with before. Witnesses say Hemmings was intoxicated when he hit the young male reporter.'

I almost gasped after skimming through the article. My door suddenly opened and I quickly clicked off.

"Hi!" Ashton's voice chirped from behind me.

I spun around in my chair and gave him a nervous smile. "Hey... What's up?"

"Just wondering if you wanted to play video games with us," Ashton walked over and stood near my bed, giving me a weird look when he saw the computer screen. "Having fun staring at the home screen?"
