- Ashton -

"Luke what the hèll is wrong with you?"

"What is your problem?" Luke groaned as he opened the fridge and pulled out a beer bottle, offering one to Michael.

Michael, with one hand still holding the bloodied tissue paper to his nose, took a swig out of the bottle. "I really need a blunt right now," he groaned as he set the bottle down.

"Seriously?" I cried. "Luke you can't have that stupid slüt over here anymore. Now with Alanna being here!"

I reached across the island and snatched the beer out of his hands, and snapped at him, "And what did management say about alcohol? Stop drinking."

I slammed the bottle down onto the counter frustratedly, with maybe a little too much force. Luke gave me a challenging smirk and carelessly picked the bottle up and took a long swig out of it.

I was about to yell right in his face, not even caring if the whole house heard, until a small voice came from behind me.

"Michael, are you okay?"

- Alanna -

I took my damp hair out of the towel and gave it a small shake. After hanging up all the towels I used and cleaning up the bathroom, I went out into the hallway.

"Michael? It's me," I said as I stood in front of his door, lifting up my fist to gently knock.

No response, so I decided to follow the voices downstairs. I could hear Ashton and Luke arguing. Luke sounded smug while Ashton sounded beyond agitated and furious. It was kind of scary.

I quietly walked into the kitchen where Ashton, Luke and Michael stood. Michael was still holding the bloodied tissue to his nose.

"Michael, are you okay?" I gently asked.

Ashton froze, eyes silently watching as Michael turned and nodded.

"I'm fine," Michael took his hand away from his nose. "See, it stopped bleeding."

He signaled for me to come over, and when I did I noticed the beer bottles on the counter.

"Any blood?" he playfully asked as I inspected his face.

"N-No," it was now my turn to freeze up as I smelt the obvious alcohol in his breath.

"Cool," Michael smiled and turned, tossing the bloodied tissue across the room. It landed into the trashcan, causing Luke to suddenly let out a cheer.

He threw the bottle onto the floor, and I watched as it shattered. "What are you looking at?!" he suddenly yelled, lunging for his wife. He slapped and punched her, and my heart raced as she struggled to fend for herself.

"Stop!" my voice shook and tears were pricking in my eyes.

He turned. "Shut up you whore! You don't tell me what to do!"

He lunged at me now, his hands reaching for my neck.

Michael's hand suddenly lifting above my head snapped me out of it, and I flinched as I looked up, waiting for the blow.

"High five!" Michael cried.

I didn't move. Mostly because my head was swimming with thoughts and I couldn't even think about anything else or comprehend what he was saying.

"Can I go upstairs?" I asked Ashton.

He hesitated before nodding, and I rushed past Michael. I ran up the stairs, feeling tears well in my eyes as I pushed open my door.

I jumped upon seeing Calum in my room. There was a vacuum plugged into an outline near Calum as he wiped the drawer down with a wipe.

"Please leave," I choked out, not being able to hold in my tears anymore as I collapsed onto the bed.

"Whoa... You okay?" Calum asked, walking over and standing beside me as I cried into my hands.

I nodded, even though I felt far from fine. The flashbacks were all too much. Everything was hitting me in waves and I was drowning in my emotions.

"Please don't cry," Calum pleaded, and awkwardly patted my shoulder.

He scurried away, walking over to my the drawer where a bottle of hand sanitizer sat. He pumped the liquid into his hand and rubbed them together.

"D-Do you want me to get Ashton?" Calum asked, reaching for the doorknob.

"No. Please just leave me alone," I sniffled.

"Okay..." Calum gathered his things and quickly left. I locked the door behind him, sinking to the floor as I cried.

*trigger warning*

"It's all my fault," I sobbed. "I'm sorry aunt Val."

I was desperate. Tears dropped onto my wrist as I scratched my arms as hard as I could until I finally drew blood. I deserved it. I deserved all the pain in the world.

It was my fault.

I had begun to cry so hard no sound came out.

"Alanna? Honey, are you okay?" Ashton's voice came from the other side of the door as he knocked a few times.

"Just a second –"

The door opened, gently bumping my leg. My head snapped up, and I tried to hide as Ashton poked his head in.

"What the hèll?" Ashton cried.

"Ash?" Luke called from downstairs, and I heard footsteps coming up the stairs.

"What happened?" Ashton pushed the door open the rest of the way as I scooted out of the way.

He knelt beside me, grabbing my arms to examine the damage.

"I'm sorry," I hiccuped, pulling my arms away to wipe the tears off my face.

Luke, Michael and Calum stood in the doorway behind him, staring down at me with looks of shock and confusion.

Ashton gently grabbed my chin, forcing me to look up.

He looked into my eyes as his own teared up, "Why did you do this? Oh my God."

"I'm sorry."
