darry drove us home in silence. when we got to the house, we made our way into the living room and sat down. all of the guys were home, so i sat between steve and soda. they were both looking at me like i was a nothing and it kind of made me want to cry. "what?" i asked them weakly.

before they could say anything, darry came into the room. "what the hell were you two thinkin? runnin around the town, prankin the socs? you could have gotten hurt. and then leading them to my work? i could have been fired! youre lucky they didnt find you up there. do you guys have any idea how close i was to losing my job? we would have lost the house and soda and pony would have been sent to some boys home. all because ya had to prank the socs. what the hell were you thinkin?" darry shouted.

"i-i.." i started, trying hard not to cry.

luckily, twobit saved me. "aw darry we didnt mean no harm. we were just trying ta have a little fun, ya know? we didnt know anythin bad would happen. were really sorry man, real sorry."

apparently that was enough, because darry left the room and went to bed.

"what are ya tryna pull here?" soda asked me, his eyes full of rage.

"what? you heard twobit, we didnt mean to-"

"im not talking about that." soda snapped.

"then...what are you talking about?" i asked.

"do you like messing with people's feellins or are you just a tramp?" steve asked

low blow..."what are you-" i started

"buck came by the DX today. punched soda here in the face for messin with his girl."

i thought soda liked me..."whos his girl?" i asked

"oh stop the act, sky. we all know youre his girlfriend." soda said

"what? no. i dont even like him like that. weve never done anything. we're just friends, i swear!" i said

"tell that to my black eye, honey. you can sleep on the streets for all i care, but youre not sharing my room anymore! you lied to me, cheated on buck, almost got me fired, dressed up like a soc and almost got darry fired too. what the hell are ya tryna pull?" soda asked

i couldnt take it anymore. i ran out the door and and started down the street, towards my house. i ran as fast and as hard as i could with tears stinging my eyes. i hadn't realized that i was crying and by the time i realized it, i was sobbing and fighting for air. i could hear steve twobit and soda calling after me, but i didnt care. there was no way they could catch me, and no way i would let them in my house. i turned the corner and cut through a field that lead to my house. i got to the front yard and froze. standing in the yard where my mothers bike had been for years, was a big for sale sign. i looked in the windows to find the house completely empty, as if no one had ever lived there.

"theyre gone." buck called from his yard.

"YOU!" i shouted, charging at him. "What the fuck did you do? Where the fuck do you get off telling soda im your girlfriend, and punching him in the face?! i have NEVER even considered dating you and I NEVER WILL!" i shouted as i got closer. once i got close enough, i threw a punch at him as hard as i could. in that moment, i didnt care who he was. i didnt care that he was my only friend for years. hell, i wouldnt have cared if he was the damn pope. he hurt me and he would pay.

"Sky stop!" someone shouted behind me. i didnt even bother to figure out who it was. i kept hitting buck over and over and he couldn't get a punch in. he kept trying to hit me (probably just to get me to stop) but i was too fast and punching him too hard for him to concentrate. i felt strong arms wrap around me and gentally pull me off of buck. i struggled to get free and started shouting when i realized that i couldnt. i looked up to see sodas eyes staring back at me in disbelief.

"sky please calm down. im real sorry i didnt believe ya." soda said. "can ya forgive me?"

as he spoke, i calmed down and completely forgot about the unconscious buck on the ground or the fact that my entire body hurt. looking into his eyes, i knew there was nothing i wouldnt do for him. i reached up, wrapped my fingers in his hair and kissed him deeply.

steve and twobit both gasped, but didnt look too surprised.

"so what were ya doin here anyway? did you really take off running straight to bucks?" twobit asked.

then everything crashed down around me. my house..."n-no i live...lived next door. looks like they moved while i was gone. seeing buck just put me over the edge." i admitted.

"why dont we get you back home? you shouldnt be here." soda said softly

"dont you get it? i have no home. im homeless." i said, defeated.

"bull." soda said "you can live with me darry and pony, okay? well take good care of ya." he smiled and kissed the top of my head before grabbing my hand and walking back towards his house.
