Adriana's POV
April 2nd
"Appointment for Adriana West, please," I said to the receptionist at the Salon and Day Spa.
She then led me to a room and asked if I'd change into the robe that was laid out for me; she also mentioned someone would be with me soon. Ashley had set this whole day for me; he'd said I needed to relax and enjoy myself. I was sure he was up to something, but I couldn't be sure.
I changed into the robe, leaving my clothes and purse on the table and sitting in the chair. There was a knock at the door, and a girl about my age, looked at me cheerfully. "Hi, my name's Brooke."
I smiled and said, "Nice to meet you."
She first began to give me a facial, and it was so relaxing. About thirty minutes later, she started with the mani-pedi.
Three hours later, I left feeling beyond amazing. I had gotten my long hair curled and my make up done. I really had to thank Ashley for this.
Suddenly, my mind began to wander to Ashley; what was he doing? I shrugged and began to drive home.
When I got home, I fished my keys out of my bag and opened the front door. The lights were off, and I found that odd. "Ashley?" I called. No answer. I sighed and walked over to the table where I always set my things when I get home.
There, I found a piece of paper with the words, written in Ashley's handwriting: "Come find me."
Confused, I then noticed that the hallway had been lit with candles with a trail of rose petals leading to the bedroom. I felt my heart begin to race and my stomach fill with butterflies. What was he up to?
Following the trail of rose petals, I saw that the bedroom door was shut. When I opened it, the room took me by surprise. Our room was dim, and the candles were lit around the room, giving it the romantic feel. On the bed sat the man of my dreams.
"Ashley.." I whispered, feeling tears of happiness welling up.
Ashley was dressed in a button up shirt, jacket, and a pair of jeans. He patted the bed and said, "Come and sit with me, Adriana.."
I slowly walked over to the bed, my stomach doing twists and turns.
He took both of my hands in his and looked deep into my eyes. "You look so beautiful.."
I felt my cheeks flush bright red. He was even blushing himself - he never blushes.
Gently rubbing circles into my palms, he looked nervous, but yet so calm and relaxed. There was a silent moment before he began to speak again. "Adriana," he said softly. I nodded as he continued. "From the day that I first laid my eyes on you, I knew you were just perfect. You gave me the strength to continue on, and you didn't let me give up. Your love for me has made me so strong. I've become a better person, and I can't thank you enough for that. I can't imagine life without you here with me."
I felt tears falling down my cheeks. "Oh, Ashley.."
He let go of my hands and moved off the bed. Getting on one knee, he pulled a velvet box from his coat pocket.
I felt my heart begin to race. 'This isn't happening,' I thought.
He opened the box and the ring sparkled before me; even in the dim lighting, the ring was still very radiant.
"Adriana West, will you make me the luckiest man alive and marry me?"
I felt the biggest smile come across my face has I nodded my head. "Yes! Yes, of course I'll marry you, Ashley!" I leaned forward and he hugged me tightly. I held him close, letting tears of happiness fall. He pulled away softly and slid the ring onto my finger. I looked up at his beautiful brown eyes and noticed he had small tears in his eyes. He gently cupped his hands around my face and pulled me in for the most passionate kiss. I kissed him back just the same. Pulling away, he was smiling the biggest smile I had ever seen on his face.
Later that night, we had changed clothes; sitting in the bed in just our underclothes, Ashley had just opened a bottle of wine and poured the both of us a glass. I took the glass from him and we clinked our glasses together.
"Here's to us," Ashley said with a smile. We both took a sip of the wine.
I scooted closer to him and he wrapped his arm around me, resting my head on his chest. I sighed softly in happiness, glancing at my new engagement ring.
I was in complete awe. "This ring is so beautiful, Ashley.." He took another sip of his wine and held my left hand. He looked at the ring just the same way I was; almost reminiscing, he said, "The second I saw it, I knew it had to be yours.."
I smiled and kissed him softly. Our night was perfect, and from that moment on I knew my life could only get better.
