I start to wake up hearing small snores in my ear. I feel someones arm around me and slowly open my eyes. I open my eyes to see that I'm still at my house. I must have fallen asleep.
I slowly start to rise from the couch and push the arm off me. I look down to see it was Elliot and I chuckle at the way he looks when he sleeps.
I walk in to the kitchen expecting to find Lucas somewhere but he is no where to be seen. I see a sticky note sitting on the fridge though so i go over to read it. It says:
YOU CANT RUN, YOU CANT HIDE CADEN IM ALWAYS WATCHING YOU
I feel as if I'm suffocating and there isn't enough oxygen around me. I fall to the ground and put my head in my hands. I have got to figure this out.
I know it't from my father so he must have seen me while I was sleeping. I don't care what Elliot or Lucas say but I am going to find my mother.
With that in mind should I tell them about the note or not? As I'm thinking this over I hear Elliot yell my name.
"Caden where are you?" I hear him frantically call.
"Don't worry Smelliot I'm only in the kitchen," I yell back. I hear footsteps making their way towards the kitchen so I quickly shove the note in my pocket. When he spots me he wastes no time wrapping his arms around me.
"So El am I allowed to start staying here again," I ask while ruffling his hair.
"Hell fucking no. He has complete access to the house and I will not put you in harms way," he says looking down at me while I pout.
"Fine I just really miss you," I lean my head against his chest and hug him tighter.
"I know and this will all be over soon I promise. So is Lucas taking good care of you," he says eyeing me.
"Yes of course where is he by the way"
"I was gonna ask you the same exact thing. He should be taking you back to his place now. It's very late and you need to sleep," Elliot says pulling out his phone. Most likely to send Lucas a text.
I decide to join him and end my own text.
To Lucifer: Where are you?
He responds almost immediately.
From Lucifer: Saw that the fridge was empty. Went to supermarket. Five minutes away love xo
To Lucifer: Don't text while driving :(
He didn't respond after that so he hopefully took my advice.
"He said he would be here in five so I'm gonna go grab a few of my things that I want to bring over to his," I say leaving the kitchen and walking up to my room.
I go into my room and pack a whole duffle bag full of clothes. I also grab my laptop and all the other things I have had to live without for two months.
I have been living with Lucas for two whole months without any of my stuff. He took me shopping to get everything I needed which I also feel slightly bad for.
"Caden I'm here," I hear Lucas yell from downstairs.
I turn to leave my room but see something I didn't before. It's another post it on my closet it door. It says:
I SEE YOU
I take in a shaky breath and exhale. He is definitely trying to creep me out. I will just have to find him and face my fears. I hear footsteps up the stairs and shove the note in my pocket as the door opens.
"Hey are you okay?" Lucas asks coming into my room.
"Y-yea was just u-um grabbing a few things," I say quickly turning around to face him. He looks at my weirdly but doesn't say anything.
"Okay I'll just grab that for you," he says walking over and taking all the stuff from me. He heads out the door and I follow.
As we walk down the stairs I see Elliot on the coach and i run over to him giving him a huge hug.
"I miss you," I say as a tear slips out of my eye.
"Don't cry cady you will see me tomorrow. I'll even bring you something special for lunch okay?" He says while wiping my few tears away.
"Okay I love you bye," I say before giving him a final hug. Lucas walks over to him and they start whispering a few things to each other making me roll my eyes. I'm so done with them keeping things from me. They give each other a hug and then me and Lucas are out the door.
I get into the passenger seat while Lucas loads my stuff in the back. He finishes and then gets in and starts up the car. He also turns the heat on considering it's now November and chilly outside.
"So Thanksgiving is in two weeks do you have any plans," I ask.
"Will probably just spend time with you and El," he says shrugging. I nod my head and turn away. I've known Lucas for so long and yet I don't know very much about his family besides for what happened to his cousins.
"Lucas"
"Mhm," he responds but his eyes don't leave the road.
"Why do you live alone. Where are your parents," I ask out of curiosity. I soon regret it though as his hands tighten around the wheel and his face turns into a frown.
"You know you don't have to answer that. Sorry for asking," I add on. I don't regret asking because I want to know more about him but I feel bad.
"They are constantly traveling. I only see them twice a year if I'm lucky. They technically still live with me but they don't really give a shit about me so they are never there. They don't even know when my birthday is," he says brushing it off as nothing but I can see it's everything to him, I can see how upset that makes him.
"I'm sorry," I whisper loud enough for him to hear and look out the window. I want to tell him about the notes but what will that do? It will only make him more angry but I'm scared. I feel like Lucas can protect me from anything. He makes me feel safer than I've ever felt before.
"I love you," I randomly say while still looking out the window.
"I love you too Cade," he replies and places his hand on my knee.
In five minutes we reach his house. He goes around back to get my stuff while I walk to the door. I can't get in though cause it's locked and I don't have a key. He finally walks over with the key in his hands and unlocks the door. I make my way to his room and fall onto the bed.
It's almost 11 and we have school tomorrow so I am so tired. Lucas comes up and starts laughing at me.
"Do you want me to change you," he cooes playfully. I nod my head not being able to move. He comes over and as I think he is about to take off my pants he stops.
"What's this," he asks with anger to his voice. I turn over to see him holding the post-its and I lose it. I start bawling my eyes out and he grabs me and pulls me into his arms.
"Shh Cadey it's okay I won't let anyone hurt you," he whispers kissing my forehead.
"Promise," I ask wiping my tears on his shirt to which he laughs.
"Yes. Where did you find these though," he asks.
"In my room and on the fridge," I say leaving him his thoughts. I leave his arms and get ready for bed. Once I'm done I plop down under the covers. About ten minutes later he joins me.
"I love you Caden and I won't let anything happen to you," he says pulling me in to him.
"I love you too," I respond and tilt my head backwards to give him a peck.
"Goodnight baby"
"Goodnight," I say before drifting off.
