Chapter 2 • Welcome Party

Ariana's POV

School today was...okay I guess. I made a friend, sort of, but she just left me after because we weren't in all the same classes; pretty much only just one class.

At lunch, Hayes left me for his friends. So I sat in the library by myself.

It sucks. But, it is still my first day. So I'm just gonna go with the flow. Hopefully I'll get to see Hayes after school.

I walked home right when the bell rang. Picking up my bag off the floor next to me, and then placing my books inside it. I walked out of the school and went straight home.

When I made it home, I went straight to my room. The footsteps I heard earlier, disappeared right when I got into my house. Maybe it was someone who lives in my neighbourhood or something. I shrugged it off and just laid in my bed staring at the ceiling above.

"Ariana! Ariana honey!" My mom yelled

"Yeah?" I yelled back

"Come down here and help your mother set up the living room"

My mom was having a welcome party. I don't even know if the new neighbours were suppose to have a party when they move in or it's suppose to be someone else hosting the party..

Oh well, I'll just help or go either way.

When I came downstairs, I noticed a bunch of balloons, plates and food.

"Oh there you are sweetheart! Okay. I want you to grab that bowl and pour some chips in it and put it in the living room. I just finished setting up the dinning room." my mother commanded

"Okay mom..."

"Oh! And where something nice! We're having guests!" She pointed at my lack of house clothes.

After I got home from school, I decided to change into some comfy house clothes because I really didn't know that the guests who are coming over are coming over soon.

"Yeah, sorry. I'll change when I'm done"

"Okay! When the doorbell rings, answer it and just let them in" she walked into the kitchen probably preparing more of the food

"Yeah, yeah"

I poured a bag of Doritos, potato chips, and some popcorn. I walked upstairs and changed into one of my favourite outfits, then rushed to the bathroom to fix my mess of a hair.

I heard the doorbell ring and ran downstairs

"I'll get it!" I yelled

I opened it and it was the Grier and the Floyd's

"Hello Ariana!" Mrs. Floyd smiled

"Hi guys! Come on in!"

I stepped aside letting the family come in

"Wow, you have a very nice home" Mr.Floyd complimented

"Thank you! I think your home is way better than mine though" I laughed

I lead them to the living room and then the dinning room

"Oh why hello everyone! Welcome! Please take anything you'd like!" My mom smiled walking into the dinning room

"Oh don't worry Mrs. West, I've already got my eye on something" I heard Hayes whisper, way too loud though

I turned around and saw Hayes and Nash laughing, giving them both death glares.
