Chapter 11 • Trying New Things

Hayes's POV

Yesterday was pretty cool. Jenna is an amazing girl so far, she's really pretty and friendly too.

Nash really seems to like her a lot.

I walked downstairs to find my brother smiling like a 12 year old directioner on his phone. Probably texting Jenna. I'm guessing he asked her out. Wow, that was fast.

"Morning bro" i greeted the weirdo as i grabbed a bowl and poured some cereal into it

"Hey" he said simply, not even looking up at me

I poured the milk and placed the spoon inside. I put a spoonful into my mouth as i stared off into space.

I'm praying and hoping today will be fine. Ariana is staying home for the morning because she has a doctors appointment. My football practice is today, and I'm super nervous.

My dad is the coach at my school, and he doesn't treat me special when it comes to football, yeah I'm his son but it's not fair to the other guys. I've made it on the team ever since the 5th grade, and I've never missed a tryout or practice since. That was when i was so focused on my life then, trying to get Ariana off my mind.

Anyways. After i put my bowl in the sink, i decided to skate to school early. So i grabbed my bag and books, kissed my mom and Skylynn goodbye and left.

I wanted to get to school early this time. My dad was always there early during football season, so he gets the field ready and stuff. I get there early so i can practice before the tryouts.

Even though i lived with my mom, doesn't mean i don't spend time with my dad, i do, but, not really. Since, my brother and some of the other guys from vine are starting to travel a lot, almost every month now actually, my dad comes along to supervise us.

Anyways. I finally got to school and rushed into the halls, greeting some teachers before finally making it to the boys locker room, which was labeled on a door in the hall

No one was inside, surprisingly. But, i didn't mind at all, i actually like the whole room to myself, no one can bother me or anything. I changed into my gear and put my bag in a unlocked locker, and then putting my own lock onto to it

I walked out of the locker room, down some more halls and then going outside the back doors of the school, where the football field was.
