Scott and Mitch had decided to facetime their parents and tell the news. They sat on the couch together, with Mitch's laptop in front of them.

"Who are we calling first?" Scott asked.

"Why not both? At the same time?"

"Oh, yes, of course, great idea!" Scott quickly stood up to grab his laptop as well.

"Scotty, I'm nervous." Mitch said as Scott sat down next to him again, grabbing his broad arm.

Scott held the tiny figure next to him really close. "Sweety, me too!"

"What if they don't accept it?" Mitch looked his love in the eyes, slightly worried.

"What? Mitchy, I'm pretty sure they will. My parents love you. And yours love me. By the way, in the end they have nothing to say about it. It's our life. They won't change my feelings about you."

"Yeah... you're right." Mitch bit his lip. "Okay. Let's do this."

They called their parents and greeted them through the screen. "Hi dad! Is mom there? Look, Mitch is calling his parents too, because there's something we wanted to tell you," Scott explained.

Mitch had his parents gathered too, and they quickly understood the double call situation, seeing Scott calling his parents as well. "Sooo, do you guys have a moment? There's something we want to tell you." Mitch said, now speaking directly to both screens.

"Okay... Should we worry?" Nel, Mitch's mom, asked.

"No, no! It's fine! It's good news actually!"

"Oh, well, in that case, I'm excited to listen!"

"We... um... we..." Mitch hesitated and looked to his side. "Can you say it?" he whispered.

Scott nodded and then lifted their intertwined hands so that they appeared on the screen. "Mitch and I are together." Simple as that.

However, he looked into four pairs of surprised, and questioning eyes. "Like a couple," he added to clarify.

"Really?" Nel uttered, after a small silence that was just a little too long and got a bit awkward. They seemed to be slightly in disbelief.

Scott nodded slowly, not really knowing what else to say.

Connie, Scott's mom, smiled sweetly. Her husband, Richard, looked back and forth between her and his son. "You are not kidding, are you?" he asked carefully.

"No," Mitch and Scott replied in sync, smiling softly at each other. They saw that he believed it, because of the smile that appeared on his face as well.

"Well, that's amazing! Congrats boys!" Richard congratulated them and the silence broke. Their parents were immediately very chatty, all eventually happy to hear the news. Scott and Mitch were relieved.

Mike, Mitch's dad, laughed. "Oh my goodness, I thought this was some kind of prank! I was afraid to be enthusiastic about it, because if it were a joke, that would've been weird!"

"Why would we joke about something like that?" Mitch asked.

"Oh, well... It was a little unexpected I guess."

"Unexpected?" Connie asked. She had had the least surprised look on her face. "Oh c'mon. I knew this would happen someday. I've always thought there was something between you. You guys have a beautiful, special bond, you can see that."
