Chapter 14

I didn't give Paul an answer so I just ran away from him like the complete idiot I was. I also didn't know why I was so afraid of Alec and why I hated him so much even though he was now treating me better than the first time that I met him.

"I'm so stupid," I whispered to myself.

The dress wasn't even helping my stupid self. I was stuck in this clothing for quite a while now that I regretted going to Paul's place without even changing my clothes.

Maybe I could steal some clothes or borrow it from someone...

Much to my dismay, I swallowed my pride and immediately went to the Cullen's residence.

I opened the front door without knocking and saw the Cullens in the living room except for Jasper and Emmett. Maybe they were out to hunt some animals. I knew of everyone's names because of my encounters with them and even if I didn't, I could just read their minds for it.

They looked like they were expecting me to drop by...which wasn't really that much of a surprise since Alice Cullen was there to foresee the future.

"I want some clothes," I declared like making a request wasn't a big deal. I knew that the Cullens and I weren't close but I knew what I wanted. I guessed that a whole day passed by since they were not wearing their gowns and tuxedos anymore.

"It's so nice for you to drop by," Brynn's face lit up at my sight. I didn't know why she was wasting time sitting on their sofa when she could be with her soulmate, the werewolf.

"All of you already know why I'm here," I sighed. "Don't expect anything from me other than wanting a change of my clothing,"

"I just have the right clothes for you," Alice winked at me as she immediately went to what I assumed was her room.

Carlisle cleared his throat, "So...I heard that things are going well with Alec,"

"Not quite," I stated flatly. "I don't want to be someone who would pick him up just because he got his heart broken by someone else,"

"I get your point but you should give him a chance," Esme smiled a motherly smile at me.

"You have no idea how it pains me to give him a chance," I rolled my eyes which I knew was very rude considering the fact that they welcomed me in their home. "You really should just mind your own businesses,"

"Why do you hate him so much?" Bella asked me whilst she was looking at me up and down. I didn't know what she was thinking. No, it wasn't like I didn't. It was more of I had no chance of knowing what she was thinking since her unique vampire ability was shielding her from me. "Don't try reading my mind or anyone's mind. I can protect them if I want to,"

"Why are you so curious?" I raised an eyebrow at her.

"Here are your clothes!" Alice chimed in whilst holding some clothes with her hands. "I think these will suit you well!"

"You don't need to be so optimistic about it," I shook my head in dismay. Out of everyone in the Cullens, I thought Alice was the one with the most powerful vampire ability. Sure, Edward could read minds...but having the power to foresee the future would work well in the advantage of anyone if you wanted to change the future or know the whereabouts of someone.

I walked to the direction of the bathroom and took a quick shower without asking them for the permission to do so.

Alice chose something that was not too showy. I could admit that she had a great fashion sense when she picked a pair of denim skinny jeans, plain white shirt, and a black blazer to top it off. Once I went out of the bathroom, there was a pair of white sneakers outside it. I didn't hesitate to wear the sneakers since I knew that they were meant for me.

"At least I should thank you," I told them. "I'll be leaving now,"

"Wait," Alice stopped me from walking out of their front door. "Can I talk to you in private?"

I raised an eyebrow at her whilst observing the Cullens. It looked like they didn't know why Alice wanted to talk to me privately.

I nodded at her and followed her to the back of the house, which was the forest. "What do you want?" I asked her.

"This is quite important," she breathed out. "And I need to hear your opinion on this,"

"What is it?"

"It's about you,"

"Figured that much," I rolled my eyes. I knew that she wouldn't call me here if I wasn't involved in what she was going to say.

"I saw..." her voice trailed off for a second. "...you in my visions,"

"What did I do?" the tone of my voice was anxious. "Don't tell me that it's about Alec again,"

"No," she shook her head. "In my visions...a war is going to unfold,"

"A war?" I repeated.

"Yes," she nodded. "The future changed. According to what I saw, you are going to join the army of nomads to overtake the Volturi."
