Epilogue
"Glad to see that you're able to make it," I greeted Brynn. "Where's the rest of your family?"
"Here and there," Brynn smiled. "They each want to congratulate you personally but they don't want to tire you before the event starts,"
I sat on my bed and smiled at the memories that had happened before this day. "Who knew that things would end up like this?"
"I kind of wished that it did and now, it came true,"
"Thank you, Brynn," I hugged the vampire beside me. "Thank you for everything,"
"I could have been your maid of honor but Jane stole it from me," Brynn joked after I pulled away. "Don't worry, I can settle for being a bridesmaid,"
"Who's stealing what?" the maid of honor opened the door to my room and playfully glared at Brynn. "I deserve the title, Brynn,"
"Yeah, yeah," the fire manipulator rolled her eyes. "I think they need the bridesmaid outside. I need to make sure that there won't be any problems during the wedding," Brynn stood up and went outside of the room.
"Did you see your brother?" I asked Jane and she nodded. "How does he look?"
"Hmm...I don't want to tell you. I want you to be surprised,"
"Getting to this day is enough to surprise me, Jane," I chuckled. "I couldn't help but wonder what would've happened if I didn't change my mind during the war,"
"You might have the throne, but you probably wouldn't be happy."
*Flashback*
Alec pulled away and I could not help myself from getting lost in his eyes. Because of my maximized telepathic power, I was able to feel what Alec really felt for me...and he was sincere. Alec was sincere.
Alec loved me.
I was not just a rebound for Brynn because he truly had feelings for me.
"I'm sorry..." I whispered. If I was human, I knew that I would not be able to stop myself from crying. "I'm sorry, Alec,"
"Shh...it's okay," Alec cupped my face on both sides with the use of his hands. "I don't want you to think of me as a weakness. I want you to think of me the same way that I think of you. You're my strength, Blyte...and I love you,"
"I love you too, Alec."
*End of Flashback*
'Lyin' here with you so close to me,
It's hard to fight these feelings,
When it feels so hard to breathe,
Caught up in this moment,
Caught up in your smile.'
It had been a year since the war between the Volturi and the army of nomads had happened. Many vampires were killed during that war, and most of it was because of me. In the end, I switched sides to fight alongside the Volturi.
It was not a painful ending for everyone. Sure, Paul had killed Craig during the war but not all of the nomads were wiped out. Those who were left after Craig died now sided with the Volturi. However, I should not be thinking about that day. I should be thinking about my wedding which was happening now.
'I've never opened up to anyone,
So hard to hold back,
When I'm holding you in my arms,
We don't need to rush this,
Let's just take it slow.'
I walked down the aisle, smiling at each and every one who came. Lastly, I looked at Alec who was waiting for me at the altar. He looked...happy and I was pretty sure that I was feeling the same way. He looked handsome and I could not help but think of how lucky I was to be with him.
'Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight,
Just a touch of the fire burning so bright,
And I don't want to mess this thing up,
I don't want to push too far,
Just a shot in the dark that you just might,
Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life,
So baby I'm alright, with just a kiss goodnight.'
When I reached the altar, the officiator grinned at me widely that I could not help but comment at his expression, "You look like you're enjoying yourself, Paul,"
"Well, it's the first time that I get to officiate a wedding, a royal wedding at that," Paul said. "Dearly beloved and honored guests, we are gathered together here to join Alec and Blyte Evergreen in the union of marriage. This contract is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously, and with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities—"
"—The bride and groom have each prepared vows that they will read now,"
"Can we just skip to the last part?" I anxiously interrupted Paul.
"Why is that?" Paul frowned.
"I don't know if I can wait another second," I smiled at Alec and held both of his hands. "I want to be married to you now. We can save our vows when we're alone. We literally have forever to make our vows,"
"I couldn't agree more," Alec chuckled. I swore that I heard the Cullens gasping when they heard Alec chuckling. They probably did not know that Alec had another expression other than his serious one. "If we're going to skip it—I don't care. I'll do whatever it takes to make you happy, Blyte,"
"Alright," Paul coughed. "Alec, do you take Blyte Evergreen to be your wife? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect her, forsaking all others, and holding only unto her forevermore...?"
"I do,"
"...and Blyte Evergreen, do you take Alec to be your husband? Do you promise to love, honor, cherish, and protect him, forsaking all others, and holding only unto him forevermore...?"
"I do."
