Author's POV

Mrs. Jeon was beyond agitated to have Wonwoo's friends at their place. No wonder she had the gut to cook dinner for more than the usual proportion she used to. Mother's instinct they said.

"Wonwoo, you should go out and help with the baggages. Your friends here must've been tired."

"But eomma... They already slept for the whole journey! I've been the one driving," Wonwoo pouted, but he still went out and settled in with the things.

"Sit please, dear. I'm going to make the dinner ready."

"I'll help!" Mingyu cooed at Mrs. Jeon, tagging her along to the kitchen.

Ayeon could feel two pairs of eyes were staring at her and she wouldn't be lying that she was freaking out on the inside. Silence filled the air of the modest living room, but it was more to awkward.

"Ayeon," Sungcheol and Vernon uttered her name in unison, causing her to flinch.

"Y-yes?" Ayeon couldn't help but stuttered as she knew both of the guys in front her like and she was praying real hard to get out of that situation.

Sungcheol was about to utter something to Ayeon when he saw Mingyu approached the three of them, holding a tray with a jug filled with water. He would want to say something, but never in front of Mingyu.

"Yo! Drink up."

Mingyu put the tray on the coffee table. He was about to leave, but he burst out laughing when he saw Wonwoo who was struggling with the luggages at the front door.

"Yah! You shouldn't be laughing. Help me! Vernon! Take yours. It's the heaviest. We're not staying for a month you scum!"

"Oops, emo boy mode activated," Mingyu let out a soft chuckle and went ahead to help the older one.

Wonwoo's POV

As expected, mom's cooking was the best dishes I've ever had in my whole life, no I wasn't exaggerating, I was just stating the mere fact.

"Eomma, why didn't you lock the door earlier? Where's appa?"

"Hmmm? That was probably dad. He left, uh-oh for work," I might be wrong, but I could tell that mom was stuttering.

I fixed my gaze towards mom, curiosity filled my mind. Mom on the other hand seemed to be a little distant, looking everywhere in the dining room except me.

"Omoni, isn't it too late for ahjussi to be working?" Ayeon hastily asked the question that was lingering on my mind.

"I don't really know about his job. Okay okay eat up no talk!"

Something definitely wrong
