Author's POV

"Kim Taehyung?" Ayeon uttered once she saw the one's holding her wrist. There was an awkward silence between them because Sungcheol have been giving this intense gaze towards Taehyung, as if his eyes were going to pop out any sooner.

"Let's talk somewhere else."

"Just spit it out here. Who are you anyway? Do you know him, Ayeon?"

"Are you freaking deaf, old man? Ayeon mentioned my name."

The two guys were bickering, voice a little bit too loud as people were already shooting daggers at them. She hated that situation, she hated the attention. Unfortunately, those two guys looked like they were not going to stop at that rate so Ayeon intruded them.

"Stop," she emphasized that one short word, sounding some kind of stern witch.

"He's my friend, Sungcheol and yes, I know him so please mind your words around people."

"Ayeon, I'm--"

"Let's go, Taehyung."

🌷

Ayeon knew she was being harsh towards Sungcheol because she never acted cold towards Mingyu's friends well, except for Vernon, but basically that was actually her true identity, her true self that even Chan didn't know a tiny shit.

She felt so bad, so disappointed towards her dear self as she kept on showing her inner self towards others as time passed along with the unsettled mission. That stupid mission was bothering her.

Taehyung came all the way to where she was not 'just because'. She knew he sacrificed his not-so-precious time for the mission.

"Now, talk," she hissed, earning a pout from the guy who was currently walking beside her. Once he was being a badass and now he was acting all cute.

"Aww Ayeonnie is sooo baaaaad."

Ayeon high kicked Taehyung, making him stumble onto the sand. He winced in pain and seeing Taehyung like that, Ayeon couldn't help but burst out laughing.

After a while of laughing, she stopped, but that was because she was lost out of breath. She wiped away her fake tears, sitting right next to the now gloomy dude.

"Now let's be serious, shall we?"

"It's been three weeks."

"I know."

"You do know the contract, right?"

"That bullshit two month contract, yeah."

"I'm here to warn you about him."

"Someone already did that."

"You'll get a test sooner or later, he wanted to see if the old Ayeon is still alive," with that last sentence, Taehyung stood up and left, leaving Ayeon thinking about her unsure future.

Maybe I should tell Mingyu.
