Chapter 7: Gold Teeth, Gangs, and Mysterious Hotel Rooms
Tianna's POV
"So she's really gone?", I asked Kyla as I placed myself on the seat behind the breakfeast bar. It was finally the weekend, but I had a felling it wasn't going to be a very enjoyable one.
"I don't know", Kyla said solemly. "I thought she'd cool off and come back last night but she never did". Kyla started to tear up and I got up to hug her. "Look at me!", Kyla laughed through her sniffling and tears. "Finna can't be gone for one night without me getting all emotional".
"That's why we love you", I smiled at her and rubbed her back. "Your hearts just too darn big". Kyla laughed and rested her head on my shoulder.
"So I'm guessing Finna's not back?", Emily said as she glanced at Kyla and I.
"Nope", I shook my head and released Kyla. "Where would she have gone?", I threw my hands up in frustration. "I hope she's okay".
"She's probably with Alex", Kyla rolled her eyes.
"Alex Trimble?", Emily raised her eyebrow. "Why would she be with him?".
"Because yesterday she was yelling stuff about how Alex helped her come to the conclusion that we were holding her back or something", Kyla grunted. Kyla shook her head, "You know what? No, it's probably not even his fault, I shouldn't be blaming him. Finna makes her own desicions, like she pointed out so apparently yesterday". Emily and I both gave each other a look. In the many years we had been friends we had only seen Kyla frustrated or angry a handful of times.
"No, I'm sorry guys", Kyla sighed as she slumped onto the chair. "I'm just so frustrated, y'know?".
"Don't worry about it", I said to her.
"Yeah, I feel pretty frustrated myself", Emily nodded. "It wasn't really fair for her to take it all out on us. We've been friends for so long the least she could do is act civil and talk about it".
"Let's stop thinking about it", Kyla stood up and went to the fridge. "She'll come back when she's ready. What do you guys want for breakfeast?".
"PANCAKES", I shouted. "AND FRUIT SALAD". Emily laughed as she covered her ears.
"YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME DEAF", Emily shouted at me. I stuck my tongue out in response.
"Let's cook", Kyla said with crazy eyes as she rubbed her hands together.
"I'm gonna put some music on", Emily grinned and ran to the record player. "How does "The 1975" sound right now?", she asked from the living room.
"Perfect", I smiled and Kyla nodded in agreement.
"Oh no!", Kyla gasped as she opened the fridge. "THERE'S NO EGGS!. I think Finna was supposed to go shopping today!".
"It's okay! I'll go", I grinned. "I'll go to that really sketchy looking shop right down the street. I'll be back in ten minutes".
"You sure you want to go out like that?", Kyla looked me up and down and grinned. I glanced down at my fuzzy oscar the grouch PJ's and my Finding Nemo t-shirt. I don't even want to know what my hair looks like right now. I laughed and shrugged at my childish attire.
"I'll put on my leather jacket and it'll all look fabulous", I snickered as I grabbed some loose change from our kitchen drawer full of random crap. "If I'm not back in an hour, I've probably been kidnapped".
"The police are on speed dial", Kyla joked back.
I headed out the door after putting on my leather jacket and white converse, and rushed down the stairs out of the apartment building. As I walked on the street I started to regret my desicion to not put on real clothes, as some people were giving me some really strange looks.
