Finally safe in a forest, they settled down for the night. "I'll be back in a minute Mariah, we need fire wood and water."
"Ok, cya in a minute then." When Jordan walked off, Mariah started to make a ring of stones to keep the fire in one area. She went off to find around 15 rocks. Mariah was picking them up when she heard a twig crack from behind her, Mariah spun around fast, whilst pulling out her dagger at the same time. Intruder. She thought to herself, and lunged foward, pinning them down. Holding her dagger at the intruders neck, she asked: "Who are you and what are you doing here?"
"IIIIII'mm-mm lookk-kkin-nngg foo-or ssoo-oo-mmee she-ltt-er" he stuttered.
"Get up, I'll bring you to camp and see what we can do with you. While your here, you can carry some stones..."
"Max" he said to her. "And you are?"
"That can wait." They started the walk back to camp, and Jordan was already there.
"Bloody about time your back Mariah. I was getting worried. Who's this?" Jordan gestured at the man.
"This is Max, he's seeking a place to stay over night."
"OK." And they started getting ready for dinner. Jordan said he was gonna run off and shoot a deer for dinner. He grabbed he bow, arrows and skinning knife, and left.
"OK then Max,why are you out here?"
"I was abandoned by my parents. So I came into the woods." Mariah gave him a stern glare and told him to go to sleep. Once Max fell asleep, Jordan returned with his kill. "Wake him up Mariah." Jordan instructed, as he cook the deer on a spit. Mariah shook Max gently, then more roughly. "UGH, it's not morning yet."
"No, you big baffoon." Jordan said " it's dinner time." Jordan finished the deer off, and served it up in metal bowls. "Eat it while it's still warm."
