After they woke in the morning, Mariah said she was going to go find some breakfast. "Can I come?" Max asked,"Please, I wanna see the surroundings."
"One second Max" Mariah pulled Jordan aside. "Should I let him come?" she whispered.
"No, he stays with me." Jordan replied in a hoarse whisper. Mariah nodded. Jordan walked back to 'base-camp' and Mariah walked off to find breakfast. As Mariah was walking, she spotted some berries. In Osmilia, if the berries are OK to eat, multi-coloured juice will come out. If not, even the juice can kill you. Picking one berry, Mariah gently put it on the floor, and step on it. Gagging, she ran off NOT a good one! she thought to herself. Eventually, she found some good berries, which was no longer breakfast, but lunch. Mariah saw a birds nest in a high tree, and put the berries in her pocket so she had her hands free to climb with. Jumping for the lowest branch, she pulled herself up. Checking that no birds were in the nest, Mariah reached in and grabbed three of the five eggs. Carefully climbing back down, Mariah heard screeching. But this was no birds screech, but a humans. Mariah dropped the rest of the way and ran towards the noise. Running as fast as she could, Mariah was able to get to the noise fast. Creeping around in the bushes, Mariah looked at what made the noise. Guards! They surrounded Max and Jordan. Mariah telepathically asked Jordan what had happened. They followed Max, I knew we never should have let him stay with us! Jordan replied. Get out of here Mariah, I can deal with them myself.
No! I will help you, she said back, don't even bother replying! I will get you out. Mariah backed away and ran back to the city. Mariah also had a power that she only recently learned, she can manipulate people into saying things. Mariah got the guards captain to call them off., they were needed else where. "ALL GUARDS RETURN TO THE CAPITAL IMMEDIATELY, DROP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING!"
"That should do it" Mariah said to herself. She gleefully skipped back into the forest, and saw the guards running back to the city. Mariah quickened her pace to get back to the boys. Mariah laughed at them, tied up together on a tree. "The great mage couldn't even stop any guards. Really Jordan? You could have put vines on them!" Mariah got to work untying them. While she was undoing the rest of the knots, the most bizarre, supernatural thing happened. "Max? What are you doing?"
