~~~~~~The Genin of the newly formed Squad Eight jumped through the forest, following the lead of Naruto. "Do you honestly believe that you know where she is?" Shino inquired.
Naruto chuckled slightly. "If we wish to be a team, we will need to place trust in each other. Yes, as long as Sensei is on the ground, I will know where she is," he said. "You're going to have to elaborate on that," Shino said as they landed in a clearing.
Naruto nodded as he knelt down and placed his hand on the ground. "Think of the ground as a set of nerves. I use a sort of seismic sense that allows me to track them as long as the target is on the ground. For example, there is a squirrel right behind Hinata," he explained. Shino and Hinata turned around, only to see a curious squirrel watching them.
Naruto smiled a little as he tapped the ground and held his hand out. An acorn fell into his hand, and the golden blonde held it out towards the squirrel. The little critter scurried towards Naruto and carefully sniffed his hand. "Come on. Go ahead, take it," Naruto encouraged. The squirrel looked up at the boy curiously before it scurried up to the boy and grabbed the acorn.
Naruto smiled softly as he reached out and pet the small creature on its head. "Run along, back to your family," he said. The squirrel looked up at the golden haired boy before it ran up a tree and disappeared. Naruto chuckled softly and stood up. "Cute little guy. Now, let's get going," he said as he began to walk away.
"I still don't quite understand your Kekkei Genkai, Naruto," Shino said as he and Hinata hurried after their teammate. "Alright, let me put this blunt then. Everything around us is alive. The grass, the trees...everything. The ground beneath our feet is no exception. The ground is my friend, it tells me where everything is at all times. I am - for a lack of better words - in tune with nature. I can sense anything that is on the ground and connected," Naruto explained. Shino nodded slowly, letting the information sink in.
"S-so you c-c-could s-s-s-sense w-w-w-where Kurenai-sensei i-is?" Hinata stuttered. Naruto nodded, "Correct. Tracking comes easy for me since I am able to sense anything on the ground. Even if she is underneath the ground, I would be able to sense her," he said.
"Interesting, then where is she?" Shino inquired. "I believe you already know, Shino," Naruto said. Shino nodded as he and Naruto stopped. Hinata stared at her two teammates, perplexed. "Turn on your Byakugan," Naruto advised. Hinata jumped slightly and her Byakugan was activated. "She's ten miles east," she said.
Naruto nodded as he stomped his foot on the ground and a wave of gold swept over the area. The vegetation began to grow rapidly and sprouted wildly. Naruto turned towards the east and stepped onto a patch of earth. "Tígāo," he ordered. The earth lifted Naruto into the air in the form of a small wave.
"Jump on, it will be faster that way," Naruto said. HIs teammates nodded and jumped onto the patch of earth.
"Sōusuǒ," Naruto ordered and the surf of earth began to move forward towards the tree that their sensei was at.Naruto slammed his hand on the ground and a golden wave washed over the land. "Líhéqì," he ordered and the earth wrapped around Kurenai. "Captured," Naruto confirmed as he sunk into the ground and began to burrow under the ground towards their sensei.
Kurenai was struggling aginst her earthly restraints trying to get free when Naruto rose from the ground. "Target captured. Hello, sensei," he greeted calmly. "How? Did Hinata find me?" Kurenai asked as she stopped struggling aginst her restraints.
