Lyrca walked up the rock to me. I looked over at her and she bowed her head. Looking back up, she said, "It is now time for you to begin the alpha ceremony. You will choose another wolf as your pair to rule with you, then we will feast. The alpha must go with the team of betas and hunters and bring it back. Try to get close to them, they're the ones in council with you most of the time, and if they don't like you they will fight you at every step, not to mention the betas like to rise up and try to fight for the alpha position like you did." She swishes her tail and sits down. "I wish you luck in your choice and hunt." I nod and thank her, rubbing against her shoulder as I walk past. She stays for a moment, looking out, then walks down to the rest of the wolves behind me.

I went to a small group of strong wolves that Lyrca pointed me to. They were the betas and the hunters. Some omegas hunted here I guess? That just seems a little odd but whatever.

I adressed them warmely. "Hello hunters, betas. Where shall we hunt today?" I tried to seem friendly but it failed. They just turned around and walked into the forest. They were walking in two even groups with a divide in the middle. I questioned what it was for.

One of the hunters motioned for me to walk threw them. I did and went to the front, The groups closed behind me. One of the betas behind me nudged my tail up in the air. I took their guidance and strutted with my tail up as an alpha should.

We came across a small group of three squirells all digging for seeds. We froze, then lowered ourselves to the ground, sneaking up behind these doomed folk. One of them pounced on two of the squirells, then another grabbed the third that tried to run away in his jaw, breaking its bones fatally and quickly. The wolf that had the first two crushed the prey's heads under his paws. He picked them both up in his mouth, then aquired the third from the other wolf, and brought them all to an omega. He handed them off and the omega went back to the pack with his creatures.

So that's what the omegas were for.

We moved along, sniffing out any prey we could. We got a couple birds, a few rabbits, and more squirells. But the most amazing catch we made was a deer.

Now this deer was wary. It smelled us before we saw it, causing it to bolt away and grab our attention. We chased it, splitting up and running on both sides of the deer decided to dodge to the side. We easily kept pace, even going pat it on each side. The deer was surrounded, and it knew it. We slowly moved inwards, collapsing around the frightened beast. We made something close to a circle when we all started to slow down. The deer looked around, frantic, trying to find a way out that wasnt the teeth and claws of our hunters. We all faced in on it, surrounding it tightly, then it jumped. It tied to lep over us but the wolf it tried to jump over jumped up and grabbed it by the neck. The wolf threw down the deer and we all attacked at once as one.

Since we had no more omegas left to send back, a couple of the wolves took over carrying it back and we all headed home. The pack was overjoyed when it saw this delicious feast we had made. I was remembering my jacket, so i took the deer aside for a moment before the feast started and attempted to skin it. That didnt work so I shifted to my human form. It wasn't very painful and it was quick, probably around 10 minutes.

I was getting the hang of this!

In my human state, I took a knife and cut down the middle of the deer, exposing its insides and leaving the skin free for me to use later. I dragged the dear by its head back to the main feasting area and did the sae to each of the prey, cuting its middle and flattening it out.

Its like a hunter tv tray.

The smell of blood and freed organs attracted many of the wolves who were hungry and ready to eat already. I told them to gather the elders and pups. The rest of the able wolves came on their own.

They sat in an oval shape around the food, muzzles dripping with salivation, stomachs roaring with hunger.

I stepped forward, into the middle of the feast. I took a smallbite out of each of the prey, along with a couple large bites out of the deer. Kinda full, I stepped back and allowed the pups and elders to collect their prey to eat. The elders took a couple squirells and a bird while the pups took a rabbit. The pulled their prey to the side and tore in. Then I motioned for the rest of the wolves to eat. They dived at the food, blood and mostly eaten flesh covering the ground to be then eaten by some of the pups wandering around.

I kept a careful eye on that deer pelt, making sure it didn't get ruined or torn. I was determined to make that jacket to replace my old one.

Once the sun stated to begin its descent over the horizon, I laid down on the top of the rock, crossing my front legs and resting my head on them. I stared at the colorful horizon, enjoying the hues of blue, pink, and orange spanning the sky. The feast had ended long ago and the wolvs were heading bac to their dens to rest after a long, filling day. Many of the pups were dozing off before the feast ended, yawning their adorable tiny muzzles and letting their eyes close, falling on each other as they napped. I had some of the omegas clean up the corpses, making sure to save my deer while tossing the rest of the uneatable and, for the most part, unrecognizable parts of the feast left over.

Tomorrow I was going to clean my pelt and hang it up to dry, hoping no wolf will try to eat it. Actually, i could put it in my den. Nobody will go in there besides me as the alpha pairing ceremony will not happen until the day after tomorrow. That's a great idea, me.

I mentally high five myself and walk back to my den, yawning. The forest was quiet, with only the insect chirping making any noise. With my pack asleep and happy, I laid down for rest with little worry. Today was a good day.
